| Jeffrey, Steve, everyone ... We could have a poll to choose the next date; then perhaps a run off poll to cut it down between the most popular choices ![]() We already have New Hampshire bequeathing the solstice to us so lets go with the same date - I guess if we contact the auto road now they will be OK with it? |
| ||||
| Ian, do you want to set up the poll? Use the third and last weekend in June? Can anyone host the registration form for MOT 2004 in Adobe pdf(?) form so it can be readily downloaded? Must be someone who subscribes to it, eh? It would be linked to at minisontop.com when the time comes to start accepting applications. Missing my buddies Dan, Ed, and Diane but glad I have three angel buddies , And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs |

| Steve, You realize I was joking about the poll thingy - just cutting back to shades of the decal design ![]() We can host stuff on our new www.minisontop.com storage; at work I can convert documents into pdf easily. That works if you want people to download, print and MAIL it (with money I guess) but it does not work for online signup. But with online signup we also need to handle payments - my PayPal account ![]() I am fine with mailing paper ... let me know if you want to go that way, send me the doc and I will put it up. |

| Hmmm, what do I know, I'm just an old man. How do monkey's type? I was thinking it would be nice to do it all online with Paypal and emailing forms. I must admit it was fun checking for regs. in the mailbox but a pain filling in deposit receipts and going to the bank. Speaking of that, when I got the rubber stamp I started endorsing checks with it. Another priceless souvenir? If it isn't me that handles the $$ this year I reserve the right to run a credit check so someone doesn't abscond with the funds! Ok, no poll. June 19th for Mt. Wash. Already have 3 or 4 affirmatives for that date so let's go with it. I'll email the auto road to pencil us in. Meeting June 18th for the Sunrise contingent. June 20th recuperation. | Re: Hmmm, what do I know, I'm just an old man. Monkeys type like me, don't you know. I'll wait to Magic Marker my calendar till I hear about the Mt Desert side of things. Mt Washington is a day away (actually 3 hours), but Mt Desert brings in logistics with the family and all. Gotta have the ringer for the prize drawings, you know. Jeffrey |

| PayPal would be fine with me ... I already have a "premier" account which accepts credit cards and hits me for a couple percent each time. If you can insist on people linking to their bank account you can avoid the premier bit and avoid the percent hits (but of course you must refuse all credit card payments). There are people who don't use the Internet all the time and would prefer old fashioned mail ... maybe you need both options! Seriously: Are you still taking on all the organisation for MOT 2004 Steve, or should we select a new person - or maybe split the job into sub tasks (eg: like you say, get a treasurer). |
| ||||
| #1 I forgot, in the mad rush that was the end of the BBQ, to announce that just a few days before 6/21, little Stevie had had a birthday. Wonder what aged him more - 365 days or MOT? #2 Did anyone like the idea of keeping it on the 21st, the solstice? I think it gives the event some distinction kinda like we are all going to paint ourselves blue, howl at the sunset, and sacrifice virgins up there. Wait, I forgot it's in NH - sorry If we are going to plan this out starting now, can't everyone plan schedules to free up the solstice time regardless of the day of the week? #3 Note I am trying to be nicer this year of MOT 00002 (or would that be 000001?) Reading NY pal Keith's Great American Novel must have mellowed me out a bit. This isn't easy. Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |

| Split the tasks, split the tasks, delegate, delegate, live free or die. Definitely split it up. I really enjoyed it but it became quite consuming towards the end. If the event grows as we hope, it would be too much for even me who can do the work of 10 ordinary men. What do you think about keeping all this going for a couple of months before tasks are assigned? Ideas can be generated and compiled. Serious volunteers can be identified. Then the principals can be named and off we go. Missing my buddies Dan, Ed, and Diane but glad I have three angel buddies , And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs |

| Sorry that I am so late into coming with ideas. I talked to Louis and the !9th sounds great we are putting in requests tomorrow for a wild week in NH and neighboring states. He was really excited about the prospects of going to Maine, he's never been there. Sounds like the logistics for Acadia would be a nightmare. Unfortunately as I stated before would like to help in anyway I can but my very limited knowledge of NE leaves us behind. I know about Peterbough, there are some great backroads around there. Now that we have a date I will contact MINI of Sterling to talk to them about the event and possiblity of donation. They might not care as much as Peabody but darn it I'll make them. I will post a digest in the mid-atlantic mini enthusists to generate more interest. anything else you need just ask!! bethandlouis |

| Steve - very sensible suggestion. I am sitting here tonight saying "happy to take on any task" but who knows if the momentum will keep going for everyone in the time ahead ... You should try growing up in another country! |
