Doug Mahar from Turner, a very nice guy and the source of my byootiful l/y ignition wires said about MOT, "One wedding I JUST HAVE TO GO TO all summer and it is on 6/21"
So I'll bet we can gently persuade Turner folks next year to donate a....McLaren.

If anyone wants a "whatever@minisontop.com" email address it seems that I can set it up to forward to your "normal" email box.
On arrival at your normal email it looks like it came to the @minisontop.com address, so you can set up a rule to move it to a different inbox if you want.

If you would like such an email, contact postmaster@minisontop.com

It is also possible to create minisontop.com POP boxes, but they cost actual money and I think most people must already have an email address!

OK the poll by jcsinnh has provided obehave's (damned southerner!) revelation that the solstice falls on a sunday in 2004, the 20th! So we can be there for MINI Cooper Day the following morning if we choose and come a day early for Maine exploration.... I wanna run Bar Harbour with MEmini myself.....

Bottom line is that the solstice experience will indeed fall on a weekend. Bring on the hundreds of MINIs!!!!

What do you think, folks?

I think the event either must be on a (traditional) Saturday, which means people have Sunday to get home again, or it has to be on the (traditional) 21st of June which is the date sanctioned by the New Hampshire legislature

Sunday=solstice is just too confusing - like trying to predict when Easter will occur.

I have put in time off for next year from the 16th of June until the 23rd of June so it really doesn't matter to me one way or another. I am just waiting for the solidified date to go to the MINI dealership to ask for donations of door prizes. My 10k is coming up! I read the proclamation and listened to John's soulful rendition but i must be getting Senior moments already, Was it June 21, 2003 henceforth? or June 21, 2003? And I like the Kentucky Derby idea, 3rd Saturday of June easy to remember and most don't have to take much time off work. (only my humble opinon)-Play on

P.S. I really liked your plates, made me chuckle (PLAY ON that is.)

The proclamation was for 6/21 which, this year, was the SS. It was for this year only. In NH, we may have a coup but, barring that, we will have the proc. next year whenever the MINIS go to the top.

Now I ask if there are those who, having done that ride, are content to be at the BBQ/picnic but never do that drive up/down again?

Well, we wouldn't do a pulley install but a filter swap, strut brace or even a sway bar is doable if we planned correctly.
Just another thought for the idea pool.

Dear Award Distribution Council Member,

I would be grateful if you will inform me as soon as possible of which "doorprizes" I will be winning. I don't want to buy anything before hand that I might get for free. Please send this information in a private message so as not to irritate the folks that believe these contests might be unbiased.

Thank you,

Ice

Randy from MCM seems to like doing off-site stuff. He might make a trek from Colorado to participate if we are doing some Mod stuff as part of the weekend.

Yes, nice job bagging the URL, awesome!

EB/W MCS, Mods? Never enough. If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch.

I think ice has a great idea in the scavenger hunt with disposable cameras. I would be up to that challenge big time.

jcsinnh --- NOT drive up Mt Washington? Why? I was thinking that the only way I would drive it is with a bunch of other MINIs all going together (or all by myself). I don't believe that road is two-way on those curves at the top ... especially if the other car is big!

It was just my observation that there were a small number of drivers and passengers who were really glad they did it but it was no longer on their top ten list of comfort drives. I hope never to push people into things they really don't want to do. Long story not for here but someone's lunch streaming down my back at 750 feet ain't fun.

aHHHHH.... maybe we need to share those stories next year? Got your point though. My Mom might come for the first part and the barbeque, but she'd probably prefer not to ride up Washington.

Maybe they'll keep the pavilion open for folks who don't want to go up. I know for a fact there are a few people who feel safer at lower altitude.
I'm off to Maine this morning. If anyone is way up north in Territory 1, Range 9 just north west of Millinocket, look for Fire Road 17B just off the Golden Road about 8 miles south of the southern entrance to Baxter State Park.
I'm already in withdrawal because I have to leave the MINI at home. Left detailed instructions to hose it off daily just in case anything gets on the paint.
John, have fun orchestrating a coup while I'm gone. Beware though, as I may be able to get to the local library up there and check in here.
Anyone else taking time off? If so, enjoy.

Hi Steve. Hi everybody. (Hi John!) I'm off this morning to meet a couple of MINIs for the trek to Nyack. I'll attend the meet there and then head off to the Montauk shore for a week. My car is packed with a week's worth of food and supplies, and it's still my MINI. Feel for ya, though. It's particulartly hard leaving these vehicles behind. The MINI makes it so much easier to stay domestic.

Aside: Had to explain what a MINI is to 2 people in New Milford and 6 people in Danbury this week. Did hibernation season just end? It's one thing in NH…

HELP NEEDED PLEASE!
I am hoping to get in contact with someone in the Nashua, NH area with the Harmon Kardon upgraded MINI.
I am taking my MINI back to Tweeter tomorrow afternoon (Monday June 30 around 3:30pm) so that hopefully they can get the stereo install right this time.
I would love to have a HK MINI there to show them how it sounded before they started, so they have a base line to get back to (or hopefully to beat).

If anyone can help me tomorrow please email me IanCull@usa.net or call me 978 283 9573.

Sorry short notice - but hoping someone can come through.
Sorry too for multiple cross posts - a little desperate
