Would you prefer the "main" day of future MOT June extravaganzas to be on the 21st of June, the actual day of the Summer Solstice. This is regardless of what day of the week the 21st happens to fall on that year.

We will severly cut the attendence rate if it goes to the actual solstice. That will seriously ****** off and disappoint a lot of people and I wouldn't blame them one bit.
I say keep it on the weekend and when it does jive again sometime in the future we will have the Mother of all Meets.

Just my two cents.....which in reality is worth millions in gold krona.

I have no real preference, as I can get time off quite easily. But the weekend may be easier for most. One qualifier to add to the weekend closest to the Solstice, but maybe not on Father's Day weekend - as that was an issue this year for some.

Geez, I thought HE had left for Maine already and I could sneak this in. I see the +s for both sides but must protest being called wealthy, idle, or both. One I would choose but until that happens, those of us who may have voted for the SS are just working stiffs, too.

I outlined what I thought were some advantages to weekday meets of large size. I will assume that most will want a weekend and, believe me that's OK but, THERE WILL BE NO WHINING about crowds, motel rooms, traffic, etc. come next year

Torn. Love the idea of the solstice, and actually it's a little easier for me to take days during the week than add days off to a weekend (wierd, I know) but can see how it might cut into participation levels. Without a calendar ... what day is the solstice? And are we sure it's the 21st 'cause I think sometimes it slips a day.
Can I vote later? I'm planning to come regardless.

I'd like to see this event get even bigger, that just isn't going to happen on a weekday. If we want a tradition, how about always having it the 3rd Saturday in June. Kinda like the Kentucky Derby is always the first Saturday in May. That has a bit of tradition. I'm sure nobody in Kentucky gets upset when the derby fails to fall on Cinqo de Mayo

I will be there no matter what day the meet is!! Although, I am glad it is on a weekend day. "What it isn't June, 20th yet?" I hope that there will be another meet before that date.

A good point Dan, maybe the MINI mini-golf, maybe MINI Fall Tour, who knows. The June thing, IMHO, should be the flagship event but not the only one. Look how active the SW CT folks are?

jcsinnh, can't wait for you to be wealthy :-> I would make the event no matter what day it was too, but in the interest of making this the best Mini event on the Planet, weekends are likely better. The 3rd weekend of the month isn't a bad approach either. Let's the truely unidle plan there 3 year calendars.
