Just drove down east to Portland, ME. and back. Saw 10 MINIs on the drive and two in downtown Portland. Didn't spend much time there, drove up on Friday morning and back south on Saturday afternoon.

Unfoutunately I wasn't in my MINI. It was a charity trip to move my daughter out of ME and back to CT on her way to San Diego, CA. Took the Audi up and drove a Penske rent-a-truck back, boy that was fun

If one of those MINIs was a silk green, it may have been me. Hubby and I were in ME the last week of June, shopping in Freeport and eating at Cook's Lobster House.

Just a curious question but is mid-Sep't. still touristy on Route 1? Are there still millions wanting to see the elder Bushes or can I get a clear ride. Not a fast one, I know that, but no sittin'. Thanks

It seems no matter when you come this way its always busy with the malls. Best time to come this way is early moring and leave late. However I can get you around this area on back roads, no traffic, and its a wonderful site.
