Offline | Holiday weekend! What are your plans for this day of iindependance? How ill you be celebrating your freedom from British Tyranny (no offence Ian and Madeleine)? I will be: -Installing my Mini Mania cold air intake system. -Driving to Newburgh, NY on a top secret mission -Carving a tree stump into a whale's head. -Drinking wine and grilling stuff -Turning bowls on the lathe -Catching a matinee at the Waterbury Hoyts Cinema Probably some other stuff that I can't remember right now. |

Offline | hey paddy, I pulled out of the driveway this morning and both the "Engine Service" and "EML" lights came on....pulled over to turn about and head home, but first shut the engine down to restart and see if the lights went out. The engine turned over, started and then immediately stalled... ...tried again and kept it going, but...the engine was definitely not right, like it was starving for fuel. Luckily I was about 400 yards from my driveway....which is 75 miles from my dealer...looks like a long flatbed trip and no MINI for the holiday weekend. BTW...this is my first problem in 17,000 glorious miles... The race, well...if someone could have found a way around that damn red car, it would have been better. I had a great time as usual... Sorry for the thread hijack, NY and New England...carry on! Happy 4th! :white: ![]() |

Offline | And I will be making my famous pulled pork (not a word, please) sandwich called Bypass on a Bun, an exciting combination of E. North Carolina BBQ and Arthur Avenue bakery magic. And trying not to get blown up by my neighbor and his annual incendiary extravaganza. And, as this was my pop's birthday, toasting his memory with a G&T or 8. Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |

Offline | Did a monumental tour of Hamptons backroads while everyone was on the beach. Motored Montauk-Napeague-Springs-Sag Harbour-East hampton. Working that Fall LI Route angle. The ferry runs $16, connects the South Foirk to North Fork through Shelter Island. MINIs on a ferry is a GREAT experience but quite pricey in this case. Remember, paddy The roads are newly paved black top but a bit bumpy on some. Very twisty twisties and straight as heck straights. Ate at the Blue Parrot and then back to the Montauk Seashore for fireworks. The sudden fog cleared just in time. ![]() NY/NE Mod |
