We're alive and well...and high and dry I'm up for something this weekend but might be MINI-less as the "lovely Laurie" is off to Albany for a conference and probably wants to show off for her friends.
FYI, I just finished putting up a new form on the MAMA Website for people to sign up and receive their free membership cards, decals and notifications of meetings and events. Some proposed near or far future events are there also.
I've also been able to tag four Cheshire County MINI's with membership forms...Rt. 12A in Alstead, Walpole Valley Road, Court St. in Keene, and Mom's Tattoo-mobile.
Feel free to veto me... but wasn't part of the propoganda, I mean mission statement, I mean point of yo MAMA to have some minimal planning events? How about just set a place and time for a "Happy Hour" this weekend? Maybe more of a lunch happy hour so we can do a minimal planning drive after (as in, we all follow whomever is most enthusiastic about leading) Those of us driving in from a common direction could meet up on the way (jcsinnh, meet you at the end of your dirt road?) And give directions as those of us in the yo MAMA - Vermont Auxiliary, aka me, aren't that familiar with the Manadnock region - although I did grow up in Tyngsboro, just south of Nashua, almost Monadnock area...
A "Happy Hour" meet is hereby approved (the "lovely Laurie" is leaving me +MINIAC for the weekend.) If you'd like we can meet at my place since it's an easy reach off I-91. Feel free to e-mail me for directions if you're interested. (jcsinnh may or may not be available depending on whether Maureen has started ringing her "John Bell" yet.)
Following an extended executive meeting yesterday, the seats of power of MAMA decided that all was OK and to carry on. Plans to do some planning were formulated with typical forethought.
The committee, while driving, was forced to slow for some wild turkeys crossing. With immediate thoughts of CCM, we hesitated in our tracks, bowed graciously, and let the bird go on.
Since this is way off topic, and possibly a breach of etiquitte, I thought I'd hide it in this thread.
I got layed off from IBM today. Anybody in need of a software engineer / web developer in northern New England? I'd like to try to stay away from the Boston / 128 area if possible.
That s***s, Jason. We will all keep our eyes and ears open for you. How about JASON'S MOBILE COMPUTER LAB? You could tool around N NE fighting computer crime, solving problems, finding roads like Derry Hill, stuff like that
Just wanted to welcome three new MAMA members....mini2 regular MudBud from Kittery Point, ME and Renee & Andrew from Alstead, NH (who own three MINI's between them).
The ranks of MAMA have now swelled to nine members.
Anyone here going to Lake Placid on Sept. 13-14? (see thread LET'S GO OVER THE PARK)
pm me if so....am trying to figure route from ME---suggestions?
Diane
Having done lots of travelling along that route, I'd suggest picking up Rt. 89 in Concord, NH into VT. Then, take one of the ferries across Lake Champlain:
Thanks for the membership and the welcome. Well we await the first get together in the area. Anything you may want to do around the Seacoast, let me know and we will try and arrange something as well. Keep us informed.
We are heading to the British Invasion in Sept if anyone else wants to meet up there. A few of us are trying to get some runs done before the event, after the event and then on the way home on Sunday. See the BI thread I started a while ago. See ya all real soon.
