no nothings broken. i have a good friend who LOVES minis and MINIs and i always tell him about the crazy meets and when he comes with me they're always lame.. i want to give him a chance to really drive the car. so this meet better not be lame... for his sake..

OK, the wife and I are both "in" but she doesn't want to drive to westerly to drive back home... (we live in Newport) so can we have a secondary meeting place on the island to gather again? I was thinking down at fort adams since it is at the beggining of ocean "10 mile" drive and has huge parking lots with great photo ops. Tell me when you think you will be rolling through and we will meet you there, or let me know when you will arrive at the point and we can meet there if you want to skip Ft. adams (it's where the festivals (folk, jazz) are fyi). Also if other cars are allowd then I will come in my WRX and the wife will bring the MINI so we can have a family portrait. I will bring the camera, and my kite boarding practice kit, and the dog and some food...

Let me know about a second rondevous, also this would be a good place for others from MASS and northern points to meet at, and we would be willing to drive up to portsmouth RI and do a meet there and then have both convoys meet at Ft. Adams or something if that would help...

I think that Fort Adams is a great second pick up point. If I had to guess somewhere around 11:00 - 11:15 am. The debate as you can see in previous posts is still alive and well as to wether it will be a mini, MINI, et al. event.

The Mud and family are in. I have e-mailed Pin some ideas. We are coming from West Warwick, right outside of Providence. Maybe we meet on Rt 1 somewhere as we all gather together. We have to head out of that area by 2 pm and head back to Maine.

Then the weekend of the 19th is the British Invasion...any of you coming? We will be up there as the MINIMOTEL already takes the money and says :P if you don't want to stay.

Not sure if I can go now as I just found out yeasterday (right after posting) that this si the same weekend as the Newport Boat show... So rule out me in my WRX and the wife in the MINI, but hopefully I can get her to go in the MINI or maybe both of us... looking for another meeting spot, the last exit on 138 before the jamestown bridge has a park and ride right at the top of the ramp... you have to cross that street to get back on, but there isn't a whole lot of stafic there and you could just drive slow (or pull over) on the on ramp and the road as you get back onto 138 and the bridge to line up again... This also has the world longest lane after you join the highway the onramp goes gor like half a mile before it ends so you could all drive slow there and merge back on together....


I'll let you know if I can go for sure next the week before, but I don't mind helping with directions and set up ahead of time... I just might be working the show...

dont think you would have gone to them... lets see theres the nj scavengar hunt, which was ok. and that dreadful meet that peabody mini had... not fun driving at all. the jones beach one was pretty lame.. but thats not the friend.. she actually has a vdub..

Can't you fit all the vdub friends in a MINI? Are they all RISD?

Jacobsen1 - Maybe, meeting either Rte 138 or at Fort Adams around 11:15

There is a $ 2.00 toll either way on the Newport Bridge.
