Well, here it comes!!! Your MAMA, the Monadnock Area Mini Association, will be hosting its first event on October 11th. Yes, that is the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend and what a way to start the weekend. Lots of details to follow here and on MCO. We will have lodging numbers and special rates, special places to see, contact numbers, a variety of secondary drives for those of you who want to stick in the area, great music at The Rynborn (our official restaurant and blues club), a stamp (of course), and a terrific drive through our hills at ?peak? foliage time. This includes passing beneath Mt. Monadnock with time to gaze in awe at the most climbed mountain this side of Fuji.
We have planned the route to have as many twisties as we could find that are paved, beautiful vistas, Mrs. Murphy's Doughnuts, and lots of opportunities to tromp on it or just cruise.
So plan on joining us and MAMA on October 11th for a great day of driving.
Keene is a pretty college city, small enough to walk, home of the world's record for most lit pumpkins (gazzzillions), and once the academic prowling-ground of one Cape Cod Mini. BTW, tried posting on the calendar but my times would not take. 10 AM. Unless notified differently.
Maybe we can have a mini MAMA meet then...MAMA's Mama
and Papa will be at the Nauset Knoll Motor Lodge in East Orleans
from 9/25 - 9/28 for our annual fall trip to the Cape. Unfortunately
we''ll have to take Darth Vader, our black 4Runner, due to the need
to transport others around the area.
From there we'll follow Rt. 101 east to Rt. 124 south into Jaffrey with a stop for Mrs. Murphys donuts.
From Jaffrey follow Rt. 124 to Dublin Rd. past Mount Monadnock and back to Rt. 101 east.
Follow Rt. 101 east to Rt.137 north into Hancock.
In Hancock follow Rt. 123 west to Rt. 9 north.
Follow Rt. 9 north briefly and continue on Rt. 123 west to Stoddard (home of the infamous MAMA co-founders jcsinnh and his lovely partner Maureen).
From Stoddard continue on Rt. 123 to Rt. 10 north in Marlow.
Follow Rt. 10 north to Rt. 123A west through South Acworth and back to Rt. 123 west in Alstead.
From Alstead follow Rt. 123 to Rt. 12 south in Walpole.
In Walpole we will stop at Burdick's Chocolate Shop and Cafe - (voted the best chocolate in North America by Bon Apetit Magazine). From Burdick's we'll visit Alison's Apple Orchards for some great views of the Connecticut River and a chance to pick/purchase some rare varieties of apples and other fruits.
From Alison's we will return to Keene and the Rynborn via some back roads and Rt. 12A south where a special treat may be in store for us by the owner of this fabulous Blues venue.
All routes and stops are flexible at this time depending on the number of participants attending, their hopes, dreams and the machinations of the Great and All-Powerful Maureen.

OK Pin and G.....we traveled many hours to attend Newport so I would expect to see your butts in NH on that weekend. You can run but you can't hide from the Mud.
JCH, how long of a run do you expect it to take from start to finish. This would make me decide on a hotel or head home for another 1.5 hours. AHH forget it close enough.

well if Mud doesn't wanna know how long the run is expected to last I still do most likely will need a hotel or the night anyway but never hurts to know for sure
Guys I'd really like to go but I have absolutely no hope of being in Keene NH at 10am on a Saturday. I'll certainly let you know if hell freezes over. It's not the car - it's the deadline the night/early morning before.
best wishes - as i continue to feel like i'm letting MudBud down.
