| Repeat last years first meet from MINI Peabody - 11/2 [edit 10/20/2003] CLARIFICATION: This event offers low speed driving through residential areas, with regular stops for photos. The goal is to meet other MINI owners and their cars, and make friends. Plan to meet at MINI Peabody about 10:30am on Sunday, with the drive going from about 11am through to 2pm along the Cape Ann coast road route 127 through Manchester, Gloucester, Rockport, ending at Woodmans of Essex. This web page lists signed up MINIs. Other events will be more suitable for those looking to drive "quick twisty bits"  Please check out the MCOL thread if interested ... In November 2002 there was a 12 MINI "parade drive" around Cape Ann - hopefully this year we can do it again with more MINIs!   Last edited by iancull; Oct 21st, 2003 at 12:58 AM.  |

| GMINI03, There is no reason why it will be restricted to MINI Peabody customers ... last year we started from there, which maybe we will do again (although it is a tough location for many MINIs to head off from at one time, even with Hrach waving down the traffic!) As for date/time, not sure yet ... not even sure of a route! The days ahead will tell ... MCOL might be the better site for this planning discussion, since that is where last years was organized ... |

| Not sure if you will be able to see a "working" dealership ... MINI Peabody service does not normally work weekends (except, from what Gary said today, a lot of overtime was needed recently to prep the many MINIs being sold this month!) Last edited by iancull; Oct 10th, 2003 at 04:06 PM. |

| Met up with Carl this morning at MINI Peabody; also discussed with Martin ... Our suggestion for now is the first Saturday in November (11/1/03) which hopefully will not be too cold ... We suggest meeting at MINI Peabody between 10am - 10:30am; hopefully they will offer some items for sale, maybe at a special price Due to the traffic issues at MOP, we suggest then turning round from route 1 south to north, and heading up to a parking where Staples, etc is - on the junction of route 1 and 62. There should be lots of space to gather everyone together again. Then we can drive off following route 62 through Beverly onto 127, then follow 127 through Manchester and Gloucester and Rockport. After that we can either take 133 or Concord St (a fun ride, but a a little harsh on the suspension); end goal as last year probably should be Woodmans since they have loads of parking and don't mind crowds ... We should pick a number of places on the way to stop, hoping the weather allows - I have attached a quick sketch of the idea, with marks showing places where stops should be possible ... Suggestions / comments / ideas please ... |

| All quiet for now ... we need some date input if we are to organize this event at all ... Any comments from anyone on a date? 11/1 SAT - Carl can't make it 11/2 SUN 11/8 SAT - Ian can't make it 11/9 SUN 11/15 SAT 11/16 SUN I expect SAT is better for MINI Peabody if we want them to offer products for sale. |
