Just noticed that a stone must have hit my windscreen yesterday. A healthy chip above the rain sensor is giving birth to a crack that is travelling down across the driver's side. Looks like MoP for me next week. I'll call Gary on Monday and set something up. Anyone for lunch?

On the road all day Sunday. Cambridge to Saratoga Springs NY and back, for soccer games.

Depart Cambridge at about 7:30 -- looking at 3.5 hours, so if you're on the Pike in the morning, wave hello.

I just love their website. Every MINI they sell only has the base feature set for the model. De-tuned Works kits are pants. Maybe they just painted the stock calipers red (or baker's been there).

When I got back from Vegas there was a present waiting for me. I ordered a sunroof decal from cooper flags and installed it yesterday. Here's the pic:

Speaking of sunroof decals: Is anybody else bothered by the fact with the glass sunroof and the fabric mesh the car never gets dark enough, that the sun is always beating down on you and A/C has to work harder to cool the car down after you parked in the sun?

Nice car, R&L
Nice decal, B&L

Ivan, don't they make decals that aren't a picture - just a black or white perforated panel that cuts the ligth by a percentage..? If it's too hot, you could try one of those.

Does anyone have an aftermarket rear swaybar (other than the H-Sport Comp or RDR / Helix) and wish they had a bigger rear bar? I've got the 22.5mm solid RDR / Helix bar, which has served me very well indeed. The problem is that my car is perfectly balanced with the rear bar on its softest setting, and I've decided to mess up my car's balance by adding front adjustable camber plates. Since they will add more front grip, I'm pretty sure that I'll wind up with too much lift throttle oversteer, and no way to soften up the rear bar.

Anyone want to trade? Once I decide that I really need to, of course. Stock MCS rear bars need not apply, I don't want one of those.

I just went out and got me a 2'x2' upholstery piece of fabric that I velcroed to the inside of the glass roof. Much better - with the sun overhead, I don't have to squint any more

Ivan,
That issue is why I had a sunroof in GBMINI#1, but not in #2 or #3 ...

Is there no aftermarket changing out of the mesh screens available somewhere? I am surprised that there hasn't been someone to create something for this issue. Good to know, seeing as how my MINI has a sunroof. I'll have to investigate...

Some time ago, there was a "how-to" posted on making a collapseable, fold-up, sunroof shade that fit into place using thin spring steel sewn into the edges. It looked a bit complicated to build, but the finished product looked really nifty. Not sure where I saw it...I'll search around a bit.
