Sweet! A co-worker just hooked me up with Sox tickets for this weekend. Third game of the season for me, must be some kind of record. Sure, it's the Royals, and sure, the Sox have pretty much needled in for the year (I think there's a slight chance that I might be named the starting pitcher for Sunday's game), but hey, it beats spending the weekend staring at the walls of my condo...

It's officially no longer new. It may only be about four months old, but it has about 6200 miles and it already has a door-ding on the passenger side (took 3 years to get one on the old car, took 3 months to get one on this)...

PS what color is silly? is that like velvet red?

I don't reply much on this thread on account of you guys dominating it, but I had to say something about the guitar. It looks like it has so many buttons on it. What's the learning curve on an instrument like it? Like learning to use the typewriter?

Watch it there! It's comments like that that make people give you free tickets to see the Royals.

In the most horrifying news of the day, you are now looking at the new college counsellor at Common Ground High School in New Haven. They're in such desperate need of help that they'll take someone an hour a week if that's what they can get. Actually, I'll be doing that one day, and then another day be doing general tutoring. Charter school, focuses on environmental ecology (I was an env. sci. major), only 150 kids total. I had 350 in my graduating class, so the whole thing is quite mind-boggling to me. Their goal is to get at least a few kids into 4 year colleges, and give the rest skills to get them an entry-level job. Mostly inner-city (if you can call New Haven a city) kids with very little family involvement and even less money. Hopefully I'll be of some use to them.

It depends on what you mean by "learning" it. It has 200 preset rhythms (drums, bass and accompaniment) and to get those, all you have to do is press one of the so many buttons... it'll sound better than a typewriter

Good luck at the Coffee Grounds High School, NoNo. Maybe you can steer some towards a career as a car mechanic rather than 4 year college for when you need a new clutch..!

Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.
