The dog eating the nail just goes to show why I don't have a dog. You always end up dealing with the poop. Stoopid dog - did it think a nail would taste good...? I'm sure the guy didn't smother it in peanut butter. (Actaully, come to think of it, I'm not sure about that 'coz I don't know him).
Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.
I don't suppose this is one of those new uses for magnets at home? I don't have a dog now, and as much as I enjoy dogs I don't miss walking around with plastic bags ever at the ready. At least with cats you can scoop in the privacy of your own home.
So, how about them Pats? I was home early enough to watch the end of the Pats/Bills game, but forgot it was on. Did I miss anything?
Just one of those asstacular days. Woke up at 3 for no good reason, fell asleep at 5, alarm went off at 6. For some reason every joint was aching. Legs felt quite heavy, leaving me to wonder if I'll be able to walk tomorrow (it was a favorite pastime of Ed's to take me bowling on the days I couldn't walk). Driving with my head in a fog, I ran a red light, fortunately with no repercussions. Stalled out on the exit ramp because it was a hill and the jerk behind me was right up my ass and I panicked. Almost hit a person on a bike, causing her to shout some choice words. Walked in the door, took off my sunglasses and the arm fell off. Opened my mail to find a letter from Sprint threatening immediate disconnection because apparently my automatic payments don't cover upgrading phones. Dad called to say Grandma will be in the hospital for a few days with pneumonia. I think that covers everything. Thanks for listening, Bert. Ed was usually the one to take the brunt of my rants on days like this.
I just posted about this on another board. I think we all remember 9/11/2001, and where we were that day, much as any of us old enough to remember the Kennedy & Martin Luther King assasinations.
One of the burn surgeons I worked with had just moved to NYC in January 2001, and though we hated to see him go, he certainly was there at a time to be useful I just saw this CNN transcript the other day, from the day one of the World Trade Center survivors was discharged, after having 77% burns. Palmer Q. Bessey (though he goes by Joe) , with WTC survivor Elaine Duch, going home from Cornell Weill. CNN.com - Transcripts
I find myself missing some of the 'old gang', like M's adopted sons Lord Winslow and 3M, Dan (whose correct email address I've lost), Windy up in Maine sipping good scotch in front of the plasma, Aaron (a true good guy), Diane, my homie OTRA, etc.
Do we have a thread to talk about the CYA factor for group drive planners?
I hadn't worried about it much in the past, but since earlier this summer a local group drive wound up causing an accident with state police involvement when someone was driving beyond their ability, I'm a little concerned now... as I've put together a route that uses the same stretch of road that accident occurred on.
I'd like to think that people are smart enough / adult enough that it's not an issue for the organizers, but perhaps that's naive.
