Yeah. Gary said that while it isn't specifically written in the books or whatever. It is what MINI Roadside says (promises) they will do...have your car flatbedded. While he wasn't sure why, he just said that's what they do so take that for what its worth.

They sent a flatbed but then I was nervous cuz the guy couldn't seem to find anything good to latch onto. Eventually he did, though.

I then enjoyed a fun ride on Rt16-Rt2...nothing like skinny two lane roads and a crazy towtruck driver at the wheel!

I hope you invited him to MOT 2005. You say he couldn't find anything to latch unto. What about the towing eye?

Good luck.

You didn't screw in the tow hook to pull it up onto the flat bed?Get 4 non-runflats and a donut spare.

The Scion xB got delivered to the dealership in Hyannis today
Have to wait for the darn certificate of origin and tomorrow is a fed holiday. Bummer.
It's even funkier looking than the MINI! It's one of those vehicles that you either love or hate I guess.

Yup. Ordered it a week ago and they snagged one out of stock that was on a boat. It got into port at Newark last week and they did the accessory installations at the port. It arrived in Hyannis today.
Hmmm, maybe I didn't mention it on this board. I may have asked you and Gavin some iPod and stock head unit questions via email.
It's a bread box with glass and wheels. No doubt about that. I hope I get to drive it a bit before my daughter gets behind the wheel.

You didn't have to park it on his head, hust coz he took a while to hook it to the truck!

To tie in to the towing topic... I've had bad luck with flatbeds and my MINIs alignment. Both time's I've been flatbedded it wound up throwing something out of whack. But, I'm extra lucky.

I crossed over the 50,000 mile barrier a few days ago. Witnessed the first signs of rusted exhaust, too. So far, it seems to be just perferations on the outer surface of the muffler (the big boxy thing at the end). My next scheduled servuce should be fun - new brake pads are pretty much definite, and I may go whole hog and swap the rotors for some powerslots or something, and non-stock pads too, but everything's gotta be stock size so my winter wheels will fit. It looks like MoP stocks Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors, not powerslots. Whatever. And, if the rust on the exhaust gets worse, perhaps a Borla has my name on it. I'm running with the theory that as parts need to be replaced, I should upgrade them too.

Jason, one of my right muffler straps is so rusted it broke completely. I now have heavy guage mechanics wire holding it together and keeping it from falling off. I had it up on a lift yesterday to fit new stainless brake lines and saw it hangin' and bangin'. Closer inspection of the undercarriage showed lots of rust areas on the exhaust. Unfortunately my SuperTrapp is once again back ordered sot I'll have to run with bailing wire for a while.
