Tryin' for a combo here........... You could, I recall, get an extended keyboard for your Atari computer that had a membrane (sic) cover. I think the wags used to call it the anti-peanut butter keyboard 'cause you could just wipe it off. Maybe it was for my Timex-Sinclair. Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear.

I caught Iron Chef America last night; they were preparing venison! I don't believe they used a MINI to hunt it down, however. I've only had venison once, aside from the jerky a friend of mine gave me when I was a kid. It was approximately the size and shape of a softball, but only seared; there was about 1/8" of cooked meat all around the outside and it was bright red in the middle. Not my cup of tea; I prefer my meals to at least be stunned, if not dead outright. I might have preferred it that way if it wasn't so gamey tasting...

Like everything else, it's a matter of taste. I hunted deer just a few times, preferred bird hunting, quit both because the woods have become filled with idiots, especially in western Mass. and Westchester, Dutchess, and Putnam counties in NY. Venison, cooked well, is quite good. A meatloaf with ground venison as one ingredient together with some ground beef and pork is fabulous. Venison tenderloin, sauteed, can be great as well. And if you will allow a plug for organ meats....venison liver is dandy in small portions. It just has to be cooked correctly. The gaminess can be most often tasted in stuff that the guys wearing camo aprons pass off as food. Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear.

My oldest son Nicholas , who lives in Montana , shot his first deer a few years ago and was told by his hunting buddy that he had to eat the liver still warm out of the carcass. That's definately where I would draw the line. He showed up some years ago back east with some elk tenderloins, seared for the briefest moment on a red hot grill...................Good eatin! Beef has never been the same for me. out of my mind.........back in five minutes.

Venison is good. The wild boar we had in Italy was very good, as was the rabbit. Even tried rabbit liver, and it was better than I expected. In Hudson Bay, we (ok, NHRef) pestered the locals until they let him try the caribou, which they're only supposed to hunt for themselves. That was quite tasty. Tried moose once, that was decent. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if I've come across a meat I didn't like! Oh, there is the pig skin that grandma makes on the holidays. Haven't quite acquired the taste for that yet And thanks to health regulations, I've never been able to try the much talked-about blood sausages. Darn.
