I think you might want to try to redirect her at first, away from what you don't want her to do, and then as she gets used to it try the more aversive methods. The coins in can is pretty loud, and I had a very sensitive dog who was really afraid of it, whereas my friend's Lab/Golden responded really well to it. I just remembered a book I read a few years ago about the genetics involved in calico cats' coloring, called "Cats Are Not Peas". Very interesting book. Most calico cats are female, and it is one of my favorite types of cats.

For natural clumping litter we had one from Costco that was made with clay. It worked pretty well and wasn't too dusty, at least until you got right to the end of the bag. I've heard good reports about keeping cats from scratching things with tape with the sticky side out. That might be a good way to protect the couch. How old is she..? I'm not sure what age they can be taken from their mother, but she looks old enough at first glance. Have you got her a cuddly toy as a surrogate?? The under your feet thing you'll just have to get used to..! Our cat still does that - at the top of the stairs too..! He'll be sorry when we fall down the whole flight and can no longer open the cans for him! ![]() Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.

She took a little nap next to me again, woke up, drank a little, started gnawing at her tail, and now looks like she's ready to sleep again. She really likes it next to me on the couch, and it is pretty darn cute Cleaned out the litter box before and couldn't believe how much was in there for such a tiny kitten and in only 24 hours! I bought Tidy Cat because, well, I don't know, it was there and I needed something for her to pee in. It seemed slightly dusty, I definitely choked a bit after I poured it. Dad called to see how his granddaughter did her first day alone He was going to pick up a carrier for me and said I could bring her to their house. Don't know how well she'll handle that. Cats aren't like dogs where you can bring them pretty much anywhere, are they?

All calico cats are female. I'm not sure how it works out that way but it has something to do with the genetics. There are 2 types of calico (traditional calico where the cat is predominately white and tortishell (where the cat is predominately black)) both coloring is only found in females (makes it easy to sex them when they're young. We raised a kitty from 3 weeks old (our BT made a great surrogate) ![]() "Buy you a soda after the game?"

Yesterday he was "well, it's up to you I suppose" and today he's buying a carrier so you can take it to his house..?? The cat got him trained quickly didn't it..!! ![]() I don't know how a cat would like being taken places... I bet if you do it from the beginning, she'd get used to it. ![]() Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.

Thanks, Richard old pal, for attempting to switch the subject. All this masochistic blather from fools owned by cats was getting more than a little pathetic and annoying. Shoot! Was that a wink? Fat fingered again. What I really like to read about are times when folks let their nasty cats walk all over counters and food prep areas.....boy, that starts the saliva, huh? Or when their cats sleep with them, then get sick on the pillow next to the owner's (sic) head. Cool, right? Aw, what the hay, just take the cat to the vet, No. Have 'em give it a fullblown hysterectomy and, while you're there, have all its toenails yanked from its legs. Boy, she'll be happy then. I need a new vacuum cleaner. Any suggestions? Must be able to do bare floors well. No Kirby or Dyson, svp Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear.

Last night she curled between my legs and my stomach (I was laying on my side on the couch), her face towards mine, and hiding under the blanket. She was purring away, content as could be. I put her bed on the couch, but I don't know if she actually used it. She was there to greet me when I came out of my room this morning. She seems to enjoy playing in the litter box, constantly running over to throw Fresh Step all over my floor. I think I'll be needing a new vacuum soon. My 3 y.o. one seems to be losing power. So far I haven't noticed fur anywhere, but I want to make sure everything's being sucked up. Happy, Secco? Talked about cats and vacuums. I'll even throw in a bonus story. Since I've been coming into work at 6, that puts me in charge of getting the coffee ready. Today, while squeezing the excess air out of the bag, the bottom decided to blow open and shoot french vanilla all over the counter and me. It's really the only way to start a day.
