Awesome family time. Introduced my son to open ocean snorkeling. Got the kayak out past the breakers and into a schoolof feeding Bluefish. We took turns dropping over the side and into the school while the other fished . Many pods of Bottle Nose Dolphin to paddle along with as well. Couldn't make physical contact but very curious and within 3-5 feet of person in the water and the kayaks. Coming ashore in the surf was a rush. 12 hour drive back was tedious.

And Steve, you are using FireFox, aren't you?

Gives you the same ugly IE interface but wihtout the problems of the IE vulnerabilities.

I took a look at it a month or so ago when 0.9.2.2 came out but I found it quite unstable on my old testing mac a B&W G3 350... so when the next numberd version shows up I will play with it again... I still much prefer Safari so much so I realy hate it when I have to run soft PC to run IE under XP to access something like the Kohler shower designer... at http://kohler1.view22.com/view22/kohler/shower.jsp its Java js idiotically Windows only

I just downloaded Firefox. Getting used to it. What's the benefit? Security?

Went to E. Matunuck yesterday to see the pup. Instant love affair. He's a hoot We'll pick him up Friday. Now we need to choose a name. Choices so far are Beans, Ajax, Comet, Cooper, Neutron, Gilbert. Any reasonable suggestions for names?

How about Jeffrey? Works for me. I can hear you now......

Jeffrey! What's that on the floor?
Jeffrey! I said sit, damnit!
Jeffrey! Get off my leg!

It'll seem like old times, huh?

Lots of the Win virii are designed with Internet Explorer and MS Outlook Express (and Outlook corporate) in mind. Owning 90% of the market make them the most desirable targets.

Firfox (and other Mozila entries) are designed with that in mind. Some websites may not render as "well" as with IE, but there's probably good reason.

Ok, I'll go along with that. Thanks.

That and you're being un-American if you continue to use IE...

http://www.internetnews.com/security...le.php/3374931

Anyone else find it an odd coincedence that just when the Dept of Justice has finally given up any hope of breaking up Micro$oft, the Dept of Homeland Security warns people not to use it...? IE / Outlook / Windows has been unsecure and full of holes that can be exploited for years, why the bigger fuss now..?
Of course it's market share that really drives the hackers, if Firefox becomes as popular as IE, they'll attack that. Heck, if Macs ever switch places with PCs in market share I'm sure there would be attacks on OS X too, though I understand it's harder to do.

One thing about Firefox (I use it at work). I've found it unreliable in opening web sites from clicking in a mail message. While this might be part of the security measures, when you want to do it, it's nice if it works... In my experience it always fails the first time with a time out error (usually in resolving the host name) and works everytime when you retry it. Odd...

Hey Jared
Nice to see you at the pulley party. The wheels look sweet. Good luck with the driving lights. Let's motor!

Ed, thanks...and thanks for the invite for dinner. I somehow managed to get home in like an hour and 20...everyone was driving really fast on 84 and the pike. Went to that show and it rocked...now I've got a ton of vid to edit for this band but that's okay, I'm working 4:30am-8pm some more this week!

Will have to wait for a day off to tackle those lights.

Steve, how about Killer? Give it a spiked collar too!

Also, in the background of that pic it looks like Man Vs. Beast and the beast won.

A ?

If ol' JE sells his MINI, will he still be a moderator for this forum? He has done a terrific job. And, if he leaves this post, I nominate Baker to take the helm. That will: a. keep things interesting, b. remind us how good GMINI was and c. drive AprilWhine zonkers.

Interesting conduct

Check this out and the "Tale of the Tape". Incriminated by your very own video footage. I have never seen this conduct on any MINI run in which I have participated.

Oh geez.
If John's luck holds and he gets a lemon we'll have to listen to his "Saab" Stories.

This is what we do in Worcester all the time. Heavy construction equipment is nothing more than a obstacle to toy with.

Gotta dump the MINI, get me a VW with a Magnaflow.........

There was a lot of bling-bling going on inside those VW's. Coolio hats, flashy big chains, beads and feathers hanging from the rear-views.
We MINI folk may drive "briskly" but we don't bob and weave through barriers and pass in the breakdown lane at 100. (I did see quite a few SUVs doing that on my way to Newton last week)
