In an effort to call attention to a different thread for those of us who are "subscribed thread only" readers. http://www.mini2.com/forum/first-generation-interior-ice/44110-having-problem-after-installing-my-eclipse-radio-illumiation-prob.html Since we have some of the greats of MINI electrical doo-dads in the house... I guess I'll edit instead of double posting... The stereo upgrade in the MINI is finally done. Well, things are never done. Let's just say I've finally removed all of the factory audio equipment. So, now I'm faced with the good/evil of having a highly configurable sound system. 10 band graphic equalizers, parametric equalizers, adjustable time delays, gain adjustments on amps, faders, crossovers, DSPs, etc. I'm sure there's some combination of settings that will make it sound the best to my ears, and I'm pretty sure I'll never find it. ![]() I like my home stereo I've pieced together (mostly floor models from the audio shops). The only controls I have, other than source selection, is volume. That's it. Nothing more. No need to fiddle with something to see if I can make it sound better. There's nothing to fiddle with. Perhaps I should have matched my car stereo components better so a "flat" adjustment would work just fine. But, that doesn't seem to be the way the car audio world works. Granted, most home audio systems have more controls than just volume. Last edited by snid; Jul 28th, 2004 at 01:12 AM.

Stryker is currently in the driveway on jack stands as the rain pours down. I just came in from being soaked as the rain started again. I cut the old stock system off just forward of the battery box last night. A good metal blade and the saws all made short work of that. I picked up a 30 degree downpipe this a.m. to temporarily jury rig the SuperTrapp. I just cut a 4" hole in the rear valance and the rain started to pour like mad. If it lets up I'll get it finished today and get it over to my fabricator to measure and bend up the proper angle piece. Missing my buddies Dan, Ed, and Diane but glad I have three angel buddies , And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs

Pulled over again On my way home from work yesterday, there was an MSP parked in the brakedown lane just before Lanes & Games at the end of Rt. 2. Obviously blocking traffic from using that lane as it usually does to get off the Alewife offramp around traffic stopped for the light. Of course due to traffic I had been slowed below the speed limit for a while. So as soon as I get by him he jumps behind me and flashes his lights. So I immediately pull right and into the L&G parking lot. He comes out and starts yelling if he pulled me over on a suburban street would I pull into someones driveway? I don't know, it depends on the situation. NO he yells, you pull over to the side of the road. I said I pulled over immediately and into the lot for safety from traffic. Then he goes (still yelling and serious), do you expect a car to somehow jump over my cruizer and hit your car? I say no, sir, my father is a cop and I have seen many get hit by passing traffic, I pull in here for YOUR safety. He again repeated next time, pull over on the highway. (Had I done so immediately I would have BLOCKED the L&G entrance but that's beside the point) Then he stammered, where is your front plate, and how did you get an inspection sticker without it. I said they just handed the sticker to me. He said he will be calling the inspection station and issuing them a ticket for improper inspection. I said, fine with me. He then goes back and writes up a warning for me, which of course is BS in mass. Upon handing it to me, he goes so how does this thing work? What thing I ask. This sunroof, does it all open up? No, just the front sir. The back is just a window (and he dips his head inside to look through the perferated checkerboard). Still in his angered tone, Well then what are those in the back seat? Uhh there's nothing in the back seat sir. Those black things there. Those are the child seat harnesses. They are required in all new cars. OK, have a good day. Sounds to me like he was bored sitting there blocking the breakdown lane (who wouldn't be) so decided to find something small and have a closer look at this interesting car coming by.

Sounds like his sugar fix had worn off an he needed another donut... The Staties must be SO bored that the doomsday traffic chaos didn't happen. I see them sitting on Mem drive waiting to close the road, but they've been leaving them open for hours longer than they had said they would. Must be real boring to sit there watching the few cars that are around go by. Sounds like the Rt 2 traffic was some of the most dense around! ![]() Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.

| Well, the Yokos are on, and first impressions in the rain this morning are very good. Ride is better, less crashing over potholes. Grip seems good even on wet road - there was no DSC action off the line at the lights as I crossed the painted stop line. I think the understeer is less - turning out of out road the nose didn't push wide at all. Very pleased so far, regardless of what Steve says! ![]() Religion is like a huge dog.
