Sad to see that we are now using this thread as an update for loss of friends
Which brings me to the sad news that Bill Bayerle died on October 27.
He lost the great battle with cancer but was told by Libby that in typical Bill fashion he was upbeat and joking to the very end.
Many of you were so generous back in 2007 during the fundraiser for Bill and Libby and I know he was humbled and forever grateful for that show of love and support.
Perhaps at MOT the Trivia Contest can become the Bill Bayerle Memorial Trivia Event in his memory. As you know Bill and Libby initiated and organized it for many years.
Here's the email from Libby and a link to his obit.
"Dear Steve-
...You have been on my mind lately because I am afraid I have some sad news about Bill. He lost his battle with cancer on October 27th. I wasn't sure if you had gotten the post card that we had sent you earlier this summer telling you that his cancer had returned. Anyway, he was at home and surrounded by his loved ones. His attitude was very inspiring to everyone around him including his hospice caregivers. He was making jokes all the way to the end. I am having a celebration of his life on Friday November 25th from 12-5 here at 7 Raintree Road if there is the off chance that you are on the Cape. Could you let the off Cape Mini community know about this through your forum or something? Sorry that I have to do this via e-mail. You were an important part of our fight against this beast and I will always be grateful to you for that.
Regards,
Libby"
