Not us. The E-man and I go slumming on Labor Day weekend. Sunday is spent at Seekonk Speedway watching the goobers in their hot street cars do massive smokey burnouts and spectator drags. It's always fun to watch a 1968 Nova with 400 h.p. race against a Acura RSX or whatever. Then there's the Enduro Races (no yellow flags and anything goes); Figure 8 with airborn ramps at the X; massive fireworks display; hot and greasy fried dough and lukewarm Dr. Pepper; Babes in revealing boulder slings and tatoos galore; Dudes with mullets and heavy metal hair do's; and the 100 car Demolition Derby of insanity. It's America at its finest
Did you know that our very own Dan McDonald used to race in the Enduros? What a nut!!
Whatever we all are doing on Labor Day weekend I know we'll all have fun and come home safe.
The only thing that sucks about it is that I have to go back to work on the 7th. Then again I haven't really worked since just before MOT so I guess I better get my fat butt in gear.

Missing my buddies Dan, Ed, and Diane but glad I have three angel buddies, And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs

Hey...

Did y'all see the the MotoringFile blurb about Knauz MINI (Skokie, IL) installing 03/04 JCW kits for $4,500? Hell of a drive but free installation ain't so bad either!

Article is HERE.

The guy last weekend who showed up with a Boston Police cruiser had just bought it for $25 and was going to use it for Enduro racing. Of course it overheated during our braking excercizes, but it was well worth the ride I got in the back on the skid pad!

Makes MOP's $500 off look a bit tame doesn't it..! Shame I don't have the $$$ - that would be one hell of a road trip..!

Labor Day?

Those of us unemployed or underemployed salute all of you who work on a regular basis. We are proud to call you friends and admire your devotion to your careers and your employers. Each day, as you prepare to go to work for your 8+ hours of service, you should know that we stand behind you 100%. As you continue to strengthen the work ethic of this country, you can be sure that the smile on your face as you start your day is mirrored by those of us still snoozing or sitting around in our BVDs. God bless you one and all.

Hmmmmm....

I wonder if we could get MOP interested in a "substantial" discount if a number of us would commit to the JCW upgrade (a.k.a. MOP JCW Group Buy). I guess it would depend on how many 02/03/04 kits they have in inventory.

Anyone (Ian?) know if MOP has ever been approached regarding this?

Who might be able to commit to the group buy (depending on cost)? What if they matched Knauz's offer?

Will anyone be heading to MOP this weekend to gander at the new soft drop tops? I may visit sunday or monday.

Also a friend of a friend was looking to buy a "small cheap convertible" and i had been pushing the MINI...She went up to MOP yesterday to look at a MINI for the first time and will be ordering a MCc next week! Haven't found out who the salesperson is yet, except that he "used to race cars."

The rag tops are selling very well. Paul and Christi K. of Dennisport (they had the star covered Indi Blue Cooper at MOT) just ordered a rag top with Hrach this past week. Should be fun tooling around the Cape on sunny summer days.

Too bad about the new bling bling headlights.
