I was interested on behalf of NY MINI kin. They still have no details. I'm off to my layup in Rhode Island. I am enthusiastic about your run. Sorry to miss it. Look forward to GIANT MINI Piccies.

So, who's got the record for the shortest lived windshield?

I got a stress-cracked windshield replaced on Wednesday the 22nd (or maybe it was the 29th, don't remember). Friday, I got a stone chip in it (boo!) The stone hit about halfway up the drivers A-pillar, maybe an inch in. By Saturday morning, it had spread to a 2" or so crack (boo!) Monday, what to my wondering eyes should appear? No, no miniature sleighs, another stress crack! Right underneath where the driver's side windshield wiper attaches to the wiper arm.

Last winter, I managed to get a free replacement when a stress cracked windshield got a stone chip induced crack in it between the time I called to make an appointment to get the stress cracked windhsield replaced and I could actually get to MINI of Peabody. Since the stress crack came first that time, I didn't feel too bad about it. This time, the stone chip came first... what do you think the chances are of getting a warranty replacement this time?

How about, "who's got the record for the most windshield replacements?"

original - stress crack / stone chip combo
#2 - moose
#3 - stress crack
#4 - stone chip / stess crack combo
#5 - coming soon...

I'm bummed. My MINI's just short of a year old and I just got my first one last month. Still need to get it fixed, sticker due by the end of the month.

Maybe I'll be luckier next year, get a whole bunch.

Only two weeks to GBMINI first anniversary, and no cracks My original GBMINI was crack free in 9 months too. What am I doing wrong?

Was shaken by a huge smack Saturday on drivers side. Expected to see a migrating fissure but nothing. Nada.

On an earlier car I had a crack and asked about repair or repalcement. Person on phone from insurer said if it was less than the length of a dollar bill it would be repaired. If longer than a dollar bill it would be replaced.
She then asked how long it was?
" Longer than a Twenty" I replied.

She put me on hold and ran for a manager

Heehee

If this crack shows up on your wind screen I would worry.
