Thanks all for your help...even proud poppa, Ian. Specter 9 from outer space or whatever and Keller Williams both do loads of outdoor concerts. Personally, I think that, in an effort to move away from pure blues and funk, my pal Doug is stretching genres too wide. But this kinda concert does need a blend of genders. Stats show that you should have a female performer highlighted...like last year with Dirkin and Deep Banana Blackout. I'm pushing Scarlett a bit too and will do more on that once she returns from European tour. I'm learning but I think you need to get the audience jumping with every band, every band. No quiet interludes with a chance to take a snooze in your lawn chair. Also, with Bud as a sponsor, I have to put up with their lousy new beers. Speaking of which, cracked an 8 Ball stout last night. M said it looked like the oil from the Buick. Tasted good despite the imagery. Thanks, fishy. Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear.

| Too bad about the Budweiser. They are proof that big money advertising overcomes sh*t for taste. The 8 ball uses cod liver oil as it's base. That's why it's so, so,....so much like old Buick oil? | You kidding? I was hysterical then I told the show's mastermind and he fell off his chair laughing. Talk about funny farms. That's the idea that, if revived, would attract Baker, Barnatt, and me. Not to mention all the rest of the goofballs on this thread - save Ian who teetotals. Our hero. Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |

Ok then I will keep being MAMAs own 'Cliff Claven' & 'Major Winchester' combined ![]() I tried to use Google to backup my memoriesbut the bands use of the name makede it hard to get an info that way... but perhaps an old timer at a Hartford or New Haven newspaper could dig up the real facts of the place.... as it was told to me it was used by folks like judges and high power politicians to have place where they could go and get blotto safely... I even tried the retired wrestler aproach to the search but it turns out that a large number of pro wrestlers over the last few years have used that moniker... so all we have to go on for the story is my memory... unless Ed can dig up some info given his contacts in the required Conn. social set S BRG/W Randolph 3 PAC NAV Mid Coast Maine, U.S.A. ![]() Last edited by Windshadow; Mar 4th, 2005 at 03:45 PM.

Hey, speak for them! I'm down with it. We were just too wasted last night to respond. I don't see pink elephants anymore. Now I see old men in orange jumpsuits. Missing my buddies Dan, Ed, and Diane but glad I have three angel buddies , And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs

My googling showed the band claiming the name came from a Boston area rehab place in the 40's / 50's. Or, CT. Conflicting stories http://www.dabelly.com/features/feature119.htm http://www.worldlyremains.com/Dropkick.htm
