A-yup, got myself a condo back last July. There's no bomb shelter, no civil defense pamphlets, no wood panelled rooms, and no bodies in the yard, but hey, you can't have everything. There is a pool though. Tennis courts too, I hear (I don't play). My first non-renting experience (I was going to say my first ownership experience, but let's be honest, the bank owns about 80% of it. But they're real nice about it, they're never around and they don't make me stay in my 20%)...

For those on Windows XP and suffering from £ envy, just go to programs>accessories>system tools>character map. You can cut 'n' paste characters from there, or if you're borderline autistic in terms of memorizing useless trivia (like me), you can just direct access any special characters by holding down ALT while typing the character's four digit numeric code (ALT+0163 = £, ALT+0176 = °, etc.)...

That's what I love about Windows. It's so intuitive.

JCW Airbox Control Flap Override?

Not sure if anyone here knows anything about electrical circuits and the MINI ( ), but I ran across THIS interesting question posted on MINI2. I seem to remember that someone here (whose initials resemble Integrated Circuit) has worked with MINI circuits before and has a JCW airbox on their new MCS. Perhaps a little investigation is in order?

Theo I had thought of that too, and there's no reason for a complex circuit, it is a simple solenoid and a switch will do. I posted comments in there.

Who's in the Beacon Hill area?

The PlayStation game Gran Turismo 4 has a photo mode, and one of the settings is Beacon Hill. Look at this post for a picture from the game:
http://www.mini2.com/forum/showpost....43&postcount=3

I think we should have someone post a real picture from Beacon Hill as a comparison.

The electrics may be a little more complicated than that. In the airbox installation instructions, is shows a splice into an existing wire running to the cabin. I assume this is a signalling wire for the tachometer. If that is the case, then the airbox must have a circuit that senses the 4500 rpm signal pattern for the solenoid to be actuated.

Our strategy would be to splice in between the airbox circuit and the solenoid with a switched current, then? Wouldn't it be loverly if the wire running to the solenoid from the airbox circuit had some kind of standard connector that would allow a "Y" cable to be built and installed?

Right, that's what I'm saying. But it may just be easier to physically remove the flap when needed.

I know a flap or two I'd like to remove physically but one lives on the Cape and the other in Wormtown.

Yeah, and my poor compadre StarMINI of Dennisport is taking flack from you and you haven't even met them.
I'm suggesting to him that the next book has an old fart MINI driver from NH character that gets knocked off in a wicked heinous fashion.

Speaking of the Cape: Kream 'n Kone opened this week!!! Best fried clams and fried pop corn shrimp in the state.
