Are we to consider this an invitation? Are we to gather on the Muddy Road and await more specific instructions. Being from Connecticut I can stop by the Governors and get enough Pork to feed the gathered masses. Let me know ASAP as I'll be coming North from Clearwater in the DeVille. Should I happen to spot my Sans a Belts do you know if they require Dry Cleaning? My shoes and belts are just wiped down with a damp sponge and their whitness is restored. Patent Leather is great for travel.

I'd have to say that Blue Ribbon in Arlington (& Newton) beats Redbones in my book. Haven't tried the Newton one, but the Arlington one is the only place we go for BBQ. ![]() Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.

I do not want to start a religious war here as I know feelings about ones favorite Rib House run very deep... BUT I went to the Newton one a few times and I did not think it was a patch on Redbones... not that it wasn't ok but it was like our local BBQ place out here on the Island the "Cambridge Street" Good Quality BBQ but Not super outstanding and the Baby Back ribs (to me the touchstone of good BBQ) at Blue Ribbon were about a 7 out of 10 while at my fave shack 9/10 is the norm and I like the Redbones sauces better... but that is what choice is all about And of course the huge Beer on tap selection at Redbones gets it more points in my book ![]() Most BBQ in New England is disapointing next to what you find further south IMO so any Rib houses that are good should be applauded... and just to show that I am not a hidebound redbones Bigot I will give the Blue Ribbon in Arlington a try when I come up to get Ghillie S BRG/W Randolph 3 PAC NAV Mid Coast Maine, U.S.A. ![]()

Well, I'm only an ex-pat Brit who's never been to the South, so maybe I don't know good BBQ when it hits me in the face..! ![]() I'm sure BBQ wars can get like Mac / PC wars, so I'll just say Macs are better and leave it at that ![]() Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.

Ugh...Redbones. I wasn't impressed when I went for my birthday last year. I go to Blue Ribbon in Arlington a lot and it's probably the best around here. Can't compare to the BBQ I get down in OK/Texas though. "Just keep heading into the wind. Don't let anything blow you over." Ed Smith / MaxaMini 6/14/05

BTW, a friend said she saw a Blue/W MINI on a flatbed in Jaffrey, NH recently. Considerable body damage??? Any info? BBQ is very personal. I like my own best although there is a rumor that that of the ol' ice man is pretty passable. Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear.

The Hilltop Grill in Brattleboro, VT makes great BBQ...pulled pork, smoked brisket, smoked turkey and chicken, ribs...and more. Only problem is they tamed down their sauce for all those Vermonters who think catsup is too spicy. They also play great blues classics through the outdoor speakers all summer long.

I am surprised at you, Rick. You didn't mention the 8th Wonder of the World, Curtis's BBQ at exit 4 in Putney. BBQ from a bus, so bad it should not be missed. To wash your hands, you go behind the bus to an open air wash sink, etc. etc. But chatting with Curtis as he cooks out in the open is fun. Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear.

For great BBQ, in Stamford, CT, try Smokey Joe's , right down the street from MINI of Fairfield County, they cook everything on an open fire with hickory wood! Been there forever, lots of locals hang out there........great bar upstairs, too! If you like BBQ and haven't been there - try it, you'll like it! I think it would be an excellent place for a MINI rendez-vous, too!

Some MOT related off topic coming up... Since we have a lot of drink conniseuureuarues, ummmm drinkers in the group, what's the state of the Town & Country's bar? I'm currently digging Patron margaritas (alright, someone tell me I'm doing it all wrong by mixing Patron with anything else, I don't care).
