Keith

Help needed!
Anyone with pictures of Keith with or without his MINI - please let me know, forward them to me, or whatever. Thank you.

Sadly I have perhaps-not-so-great news.

Keith was operated on this past Sunday, to stabilize his neck. He remains in a deliberately induced coma.
The plan now is to transfer him to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta Georgia - obviously his condition is serious to require that he be transferred there.
He cannot be transferred until he is stable enough to do so - at least a week yet.

I hope to get some more information this Saturday and of course I will keep everyone up to date.

I thought I had some from the north shore events maybe Coopers for Caregivers but at first glance I can't see them. Made me realise that I have way too many pictures of cars and way too few pictures of their owners. Something like this could happen to anyone and then you realise all the things you should have done....

Care For Keith

I received the following email from Keiths brother, Ken:

Thank you for your email and your concern ... Keith has sustained a major trauma to his spinal column and we do not yet know the full extent of his injuries. He has been stabilized and will need to undergo rehabilitation for an unknown duration of time. We have been in the process of gathering information and knowledge in order to prepare ourselves for what lies ahead.

We have set up a site www.careforkeith.com. It will allow us to provide people with information, updates, and the ability to make donations (through check or online) to a living trust that will help deter keith's medical costs, potential remodel to my parent's house, and his long term care (if needed). Other fundraising ideas are in the works but additional ones are appreciated.

We are hoping for the best but all we can do is wait and see right now and take what steps we can to help keith. Please feel free to post the website addresss or relay the info to others.

I am very sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I hope in time that our "community" can organize an event to assist with "CareForKeith".

The intensity of emotions I'm experiencing over this tragedy is immense. I can't imagine how much it is multiplied for Keith's family and close friends. It must be incredibly difficult for them. I am hoping that we will hear good news at some point. Assuming Keith is still in the induced coma (not too uncommon from what I've researched on these types of injuries) to keep him stable. I'm anxious to see how he is when he is brought out of that state.
Please consider doing anything you can to help our friend Keith.

I spoke with Gary while I was at MOP yesterday and he confirmed that Keith is still under the induced coma. Prayers for Keith and his family.

Gary also mentioned that Bryan is back and doing well, but Mark just got in a bike accident and broke his foot and ankle. Evidently, Mark will be out a while as well.

Needless to say, this has not been a good year for our large circle of friends.
