I do the video rental thing with the Sopranos. Three episodes a night for four nights - come out talking like NoNo's uncles! The show that I am enamored with is The Shield on Fx. Just started a new season last week. Michael Chiklis (Chicklets?) is just so believeable in his role as a dirty cop. The first time I happened across the show I was riveted. I don't know if it's lifelike, but it sure seems that way. If you get a chance, check it out. I'm sure you'll go out and rent the 1st season - which I highly recommend. Awesome TV.

I'm much more interested in the next season of Mythbusters than the next season of 24. It just hasn't ever really hooked me, whereas the weekly potential that Jamie's calm, unflappable façade might finally snap and he'll "accidentally" rig some contraption to trap, fillet, and sauté Adam is absolutely riveting. Have to admit there's not much for me on network TV, I really don't care for any of the three main flavors of network drama; Cop shows, lawyer shows, and doctor shows. They just don't do it for me. And when you start to combine two of the three (Law and Order, etc.), then I'm really not interested. Here's a question, is there a show out there which has truly combined all three? And not just a lawyer/cop show with token doctors or a doctor/cop show with token lawyers, I mean a true fully inclusive hat trick of the three great pillars of American TV drama? -Ricardo

Go for it, Jason. Last time I left a crappy job I took a slightly sub-par but interesting job, which led to a relatively perfect one. At least by hospital standards. I wanted to go back & thank the people who made my life miserable enough to make me quit, except their MD office was closed. Hee hee hee. ![]()

I'm glad there are some Shield fans out there! Yes, quite a change from the Commish, which I never watched. Let's not forget to add The Family Guy to my list of favorites. It has passed the Simpsons in terms of incredibly clever writing (and bad-taste humor, always one of my favorites!)

So you're leaving leaving, or your leaving to be rehired by another contract company. I'm so confused. Sorry I'm not keeping up. I think you mean you're leaving the bad / frustrating job environment and taking the happy / lower paid job. If so, congrats..! I'm sure the change will be refreshing - it was for me. Jane thinks my job is not a real job just because I look forward to going and enjoy it when I'm there..! It's been a while since I could say that and it's very nice when it happens. Short of being your own boss (which has other stresses) it's a nice way to earn a living. ![]() Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.

Yup, no more IBM, not even as a third party contractor. The new job sounds like it should be a great fit. Unfortunately, one of the benefits doesn't quite fit in for me this winter... they offer to pay half of the price for a season pass to Stowe. But, I've already bought a pass someplace else, so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to get the Stowe pass too, even at half price. The new job has really nice office space, they're going to get me a Mac for work (I think the Macs I saw at the office were current gen iMacs), I mentioned my upcoming week long snowboarding trip, and got offered an additional week of vacation time so that I wouldn't use up all my vacation days a few months into the job. All in all, it should be a much happier job... I just have to cut back on the spending a bit.
