Tho' I never saw Fred Astaire in a bowler.

True, but I think Fred was mostly doing 'soft shoe'. Especially the top hat was necessary in 'Top Hat'. I love Fred Astaire movies. Except Ginger's skills were highly underrated considering she was doing everything Fred did backwards!

I'm thinking about getting some tap shoes. My coworkers are easily scared, because I don't make much noise when I walk. I'm really not trying to sneak up on them... For a while it was entertaining watching them jump 4 feet in the air, but now I'm starting to feel bad.

"Hi Cathleen. Sweet to know I am missed.

Been working long hours. Two assistants have left the company and we are doing a major re-organization - new CFO and blah, blah, blah. So, I've been too exhausted in the evenings to log on and post. But, I've always got my friends tucked away in a special place in my heart. I'll be back. I've got some wonderful photos of my tagged duckie floating down a bubbling creek in the mountains of Lake Windemere, England. Ed would have loved this place.

Please post this message for me and thanks for your note. xx "

Don't work too hard, and can't wait to see the Lake Windemere pics.

You crazy Brits! They claim it's just an optical illusion. All I know is I'm never flying to London!

Don't know about optical illusion - looks more like Photoshop to me. And what's to say it's crazy Brits..? Where did you find it? What's the history / story??

There you have it. That'll teach you to question me! I think you owe me an appology. As a matter of fact, I'll never post here again until you do!

Here's your appology

Glad I'll never bump into you in Heathrow!

Having seen the whole sequence (which would have been easy to link to in the fist place ) I believe them - and not just because I'm a Brit. The illusion is greatly enhanced by the fact that the plane which seems to be getting hit in the tail is a 777. That's a HUGE plane and has only two very large engines, and being JAL it's probably the extended range one. The one that seems to be hitting it is an A300 which is pretty small in aircraft terms but also has two engines. I think that adds to the subconcious idea that they are similar sizes. Thanks to wikipedia, here's the stats:
777-300ER length 242ft, wingspan 212ft (and it can fly for over 6 hours on ONE engine!)
A300-600 (a DHL freighter might not even be this big) length 177ft, wingspan 147ft

How's this for a variant on the A300 theme..!!

Those things are really cool. Look how low the cockpit is to get the top of it under the cargo floor.

That plan must have the aerodynamics of a mini.
