oh yeah... I watched the BEST "Inside the Actors' Studio" I've ever seen last night... the guest was Dave Chappelle... man that was reallllly good! He even talked about what happened with Comedy Central and why he bailed and went to Africa and stuff... There was a lot of funyn stuff, but there was also some pretty heavy stuff and it was just really interesting.. I highly recommend setting your TiVo's or whatever and catching it the next time it's aired..
YAY! The ol' tax refund arrived on Friday, and today I ordered shiny new goalie gloves! They should be finished in 4-6 weeks and then on their way to me. Woo hoo! Of course, I'm a quasi mature adult, so I didn't blow the whole refund, the majority went into the bank (boring!). But at least I get new gloves. Yay!

Attaboy, Rico (my new best friend). Do you condition gloves the way ballplayers do? Or do you hire NoNo to chew on them for a fortnight to get them nice and supple? Seriously, do they come to you stiff? No stupid jokes, I'm serious here.
Don't know if the source was Mumbles or not, but it looks official, though not happening quickly, so Hingham would probably beat it. They're tearing down the Copy Cop on Boylston and putting in a 'flagship' store. http://www.boston.com/business/artic...e_in_back_bay/
Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.
Fighting... urge... to make... multiple... rude.. jokes... ARGH! I can't take the pressure!!! Gimme a minute. I gotta take some deep breaths here. Calm blue ocean. Okay, I'm good.
Back in the day, goalies used to use glove oil and condition them the way ballplayers do. These days, most decent baseball gloves are still primarily natural leather, but goalie gloves have moved on from the standard brown cowhide, most are now made from synthetic leathers (Jenpro, Jenrino, Clarino). The synthetics age better, absorb less water, weigh less, and can be made in any color. But they are still pretty stiff when they arrive and they take a fair bit of breaking in, and of course the old school glove oil won't really do anything for it. To speed the process, some of the nicer ones (like what I'm getting, yay) are made with thermformable materials. So you take your new glove to the pro-shop, they bake it in a special oven for about 8 minutes, let it cool slightly, then put it on, strap it tight, and open and close it for about 15 minutes. Dramatically speeds up the break-in time and it's "custom" to your hand. My skates are "thermoformable" too, they felt like crap until I had them baked, then they felt perfect. As a last ditch alternative, NoNo could come over and chew on them for a while. That works too, but it degrades the product lifetime and may void the warranty in some states (plus Ontario and Manitoba)...
