So yesterday I noticed something: It's been over 13 months, 18,000 miles since my last oil change. My indicator still says 2500 miles remaining till service (even though I am now at 30500 mi). Shouldn't it have me going in now! I understand a few hundred miles off but that much, and that long?

Yesterday's gas/cold start talk I commented that I thought it was just due to the old oil that I knew I had, but I couldn't remember just how old, so last night I dug through all my service paperwork and updated it to my car log file and realized it's been much longer than I thought!

Dent Doctor (local franchise is Green Mountain Dent Repair, 800-414-3368)! They're the ones a lot of the local shops bring in to do the dent stuff. When I had my passenger door de-dented last summer, the guy actually remembered working on yours. $45...

Hey Theo, did you ever get your DSCOFF shirt? I'm just wondering how it turned out. Wondering how well cafepress does those black shirts.

I followed your suggestion and did a black "S" shirt. Got the image sorted out so it would all work - but the resulting shirt has a "faded" image that looks like it's been washed lots. Comes out fine in a photo, and looks acceptable but not good.

However, contacted CafePress and they gave me a refund, so no complaints with their service!

I noticed that the shirts we got for the Newfie trip were also quite faded and they were from Cafepress. Last year's Hudson Bay shirts, however, were from Zazzle, and they're still quite crisp to this day. Perhaps worth looking into.

Oh crap! I did receive it and forgot to give you feedback. I'll take some photos tonight but here's my basic impression: OK.

The quality of the T is excellent and is boldly black. The graphic design is excellent. However, the printing of the graphic was a bit...umm...pixelated, for lack of a better word. The edges of the graphic are not crisp and the orange fill is not a consistent color but mottled. Also, the thickness of the transfer material seems a bit thin, as though it might not withstand 5 or so washings. Time will tell.

Of course, I am probably being too critical since I think Cafe Press does a reasonable job for one-off stuff. Add to that the fact that from 3 or 4 feet, these criticisms (literally) dissapear.

Thanks for your design and follow through, Josh. Now erase the graphic 'cause I want to have a one-of-a-kind!

Close up pix tonight...

Theo

Yes... and I thought all I'd heard about oil prices was that they were down slightly. Of course, you could ask hold oil *futures* prices affect gas prices right now... (I think the prices they were talking about last week were for oil with late June delivery)
I just filled up with Shell 89 so I'll let you know if the cold start issue is any different. The car-friendl approach didn't help this morning. Well, it was different, just not cured. It started on the first or second crank (better - back to normal) but stalled out straight away where as it was turning over a lot and then not running right.

Josh, odd that full serve was cheaper... I'd have expected the opposite.

There's a Sunoco in Bedford that I'll try as soon as I get this $25 card from Shell (3 purchases)

All the cheap-o independent stations in somerville and cambridge (and I assume others in or near the city) only have space for 2-4 pumps and always have someone pumping it. And I always have to yell at them not to top it off. Most of the time, they don't understand english. But it is often 20-30 cents cheaper than the self at the mobil next door.
