If I can work up the nerve, there's a market a block or two up the road. Might try to get some pepto. I don't know if it'll help the pain in my stomach, but it's worth a try.

The two times in my life I've had pepto, it did a "reverse gears" on my digestive system almost immediately, that stuff was virtually flying back out of my mouth. Not a pepto fan. My mother is a diehard "have some ginger ale" believer, and since she managed to raise me without killing me or giving me any severe scarring (have my brother to blame for that), I'm going to go with what she said. Get yourself some Schweppes....

Yes, I have a severe viscous liquid aversion, so I can't imagine swallowing pink stuff myself. Have heard from quite a few people that they think it works, but I can't say I know what the chemical mechanism is supposed to be. Bismuth? Why not antimony or lead?

Just woke up from a nice nap. I think - *think* - the worst is over. The pain seems to have subsided, and for that I am very grateful. The occassional zing here and there, but nothing like earlier. I'll head down to the store and get some juice/ginger ale, and some crackers to munch on. Is Schwepps the only Ricardo-approved ginger ale out there? We know your thoughts on root beer, wouldn't want to cause any consternation by selecting the wrong ginger ale.

Glad to hear you're feeling better! I'm a Canada Dry fan myself, but to each his or her own!

No Subaru, so you're disqualified. Not even a Peugoet, Saab, or Volvo I bet.

My mother traded in her Subaru for a MINI, so I get in on that. Plus I've milked cows and spent seemingly 2/3rds of my childhood tapping trees and boiling sap at my grandfather's sugarbush. And I know you're not supposed to eat fiddleheads without boiling them first. So I'm pretty sure I qualify.

Canada Dry could do in a pinch, but Schweppes is preferred. To this day, if I drink plain ginger ale I feel like I must be sick because that was the only time I ever drank it as a kid. Schweppes has a "dry grape" flavored one that's good, though...

I was searching for MINI performance stats on Motor Trend online and Oxford Motor Sports was the second hit. You're out there, Pete.

Yogi teas make a good Ginger tea and also a Stomach Ease tea. Those seem to work pretty well.

I dragged myself to the second half of class. It's lunchtime now, so I thought maybe I could try to reintroduce solids to the mix. I took two of the tiniest nibbles from a piece of bread and the pain came back so quickly, so severely I immediately abandoned all hope of eating anytime soon. The Gatorade (Frost - Glacier Freeze) seems to be just fine.

Yeah, class just wasn't happening. A false alarm and some achiness convinced me that bed was where I needed to be. So I'll just be sitting here with the laptop all night.

Hehehe. I remember that muffin. I looked for those at that little market. It was more like a convenience store only it wasn't convenient at all. I don't feel like getting up again. Perhaps a call to room service. Maybe I'll try the bread again. I almost kind-of-sort-of feel a teensy bit hungry. But I feel like the hamster that's been shocked too many times reaching for the pellet.
