Italian Job Anniversary Fundraiser?

I though it would be kind of neat to have an Italian Job anniversary viewing for MINI owners. It was originally released on May 30, 03, a few months before I had my MINI so yes, I felt left out.

So what about a MINI event to see the Italian Job at some place special? After seeing the Jordan’s Furniture IMAX ads for NASCAR 3D, I started thinking how cool it would be to see the Italian Job there. Well guess what? If you hold a fundraiser there, well, here is what is on their website;

The days of bake sales, raffles and car washes are finally over!!!

We know that sports teams, clubs, and many other programs within schools frequently look for ways to raise money. The Comcast IMAX 3D Theater at Jordan’s Furniture Natick have put together a fundraising program that we feel will be both extremely successful and entertaining!

There is no catch to this proposal. It will cost you absolutely no money, just a little bit of time and effort. The Comcast IMAX Theater will provide you with a double feature, use of the lobby prior to the show, personalized marketing flyers and marketing suggestions.

The amount of money you will raise will be based on:
1. Number of seats sold

2. The price you decide to sell your tickets for

3. A percentage of concession items purchased.

4. A percentage of "Kelly's Roast Beef" sales during your event

Do not stop there; make full use of our theater lobby by selling merchandise, holding a raffle, or organizing a silent auction.

Our goal is for you to raise an amount of money that will make a difference.

In order to make this fundraiser a success, we are going to establish an honest and open relationship with one another. The Comcast IMAX 3D Theater will become an annual fundraiser for your group.

I’m thinking we could a fundraiser for some charity, get a boatload of MINIs and their owners to show up some day to view the Italian Job along with the NASCAR 3D movies.


Now if there were someone out there that had the time to organize such an even (including having Jordan’s obtain the Italian Job movie)….

Only thing is, aren't the IMAX films specially made so is it possible for them to show the Italian Job?

There is a spectacular old style theater in Beverly (the Cabot) that shows movies (and magic shows); it would be great to get them to put on a special showing of the Italian Job ...


PS: it would help if the text was not yellow on white!

Imax theaters can show regular old film. Just not like 3-d on the curved screen.

I'd be interested. If your looking for a charity, my wife is on the board of Adult Congenital Heart Association. There looking for a fund raiser. I would offer to organize but do not have computer skills. I would be glad to help in other ways if possible. Eliot
