Count me out for a pulley (got it in October) but I will def show up and hang out and maybe see if there is anything else he can install while he's here.

Any thoughts on a venue yet? Bisch's place was nice, but a haul.

Sounds fun, which pulley and what % are you thinking of using.

Pezboy, well since there will only be one or two pulleys being done at a time. Other goodies like intakes and ralley lights can be installed. I would love to instal my own gear but I am not good with mechanical stuff. Having a second set of eyes and someone that is good at that around to help might be fun.

Randy used to use (and still probably does use) Alta 15% pullies. He also installs intakes at no charge since the stock one has to come off anyway. He won't do ralley lights because they take far far too long. He'll do other perf stuff like throttle bodies/plugs/catch cans(needs certain tools for that one.) I hear the lights are a horrible install just for some brighter hibeams.

I think last time, the extent of other people installing stuff was Noah doing his aux cable.

I was figuring on our group doing the extra stuff, and leaving the expert to do the big things. The wirering up of the Ralley lights are not bad it is installing the mounting brakets or cutting into dash for the switch.

General comments

Hey folks,

One quick comment. Randy's primary mission during these pulley parties is to install supercharger pullies (hence the name). He does a few more mods (CAI, oil catch can, and ECU upgrades), but from what I can gather by reading previous posts and looking at the typical schedule, the limit is generally to these types of items. He usually spends about 2 hours per car, or thereabouts.

I don't think he does any suspension work, or throttle bodies (though I may be mistaken).
If you want to ask Randy about a specific item, I'm sure he'd definitely let you know.

So when he does these upgrades does he do them alone and we watch the master at work, or do we help him on our cars. I was thinking of a JCW kit, I may go this route for the time being. Do this, put in an intake, and a nice exhaust and I will have a nice performance Mini.

Hi Winslow,

Basically yes. As Pezboy mentioned in an earlier post, about the only other work done by the participants was an Aux Port.

Now, having said that, I suppose there's nothing saying you can't do some of your own work, and politely ask Randy for his opinion. I guess it all depends on the type of facilities we have at our disposal.

The pulley, intake and exhaust are definitely a good way to go.

By the way Winslow, can we count you in for a pulley at least?

BB, I had looked earlier at some schedules for other parties and I saw a few throttle bodies, but mainly he'll do pulley/intake/ecu/plugs.

Winslow, I guess you could try to get more involved but basically he does the work with an audience of 10-15 people.

Here are pics of him doing my car from last October:

Do it. It is the best performance bang for the buck you can get! Randy has done over 200, probably over 250 by now. If you are going to do it (non-JCW) then this is the guy you want to void your warrantee.

That's true...but at the same time, remember Randy would be coming in on a Friday night, and people going to the cape on a Saturday!

They done building that tunnel yet? Oh wait that one was only for white Mustangs anyway.

BISCH! The cape is a good place to be in July! Thanks for your offer. We might need it. It would be a haul, though, for our NYC and CT folks, but just think about the drive back!

And you won't get left holding the bag for heating the place for two days while Randy pulled in the bucks. Tim, you are very generous to allow the use of your bay again.

Anyone who comes to the Cape in the summer is NUTS!! This beautiful peninsula becomes a hell hole June through August. At the same time we love you tourists.......I guess it's a classic love/hate relationship.

Don't forget about those of us from the North too...

So how do we pay for this stuff, do we order ahead of time, or pay on the spot?

An intake you would have to preorder. A pulley would be reserved for you for signing up or whatever. All this can be done at Webb's messageboard. There is a Northeast/Northeast thing going which is the one that's trying to get organized. Cash or check at the party.
