I work for a biotech company and I get something like 10.8 hours of vacation per month. Not that generous really (not when you come from a country where you start on 5 weeks vacation and go up from there with service). I was only in the Bahamas for something like 4 working days and this trip was only a week. Nothing outrageous I assure you. Today is Saturday and Rockport is hardly a vacation, so you've got nothing on me there. ![]() No comment Actually deals like that depend on the destination. Those kind of kick backs are usually offered by resorts to get group business, you know 'buy 10 places get one free" that kind of thing. Invent a time machine ![]() Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.

Food & the Tent I think Richard is exactly right here - I don't think anyone's expecting Wolfgang Puck to cater this event. Provided there's enough prep time, I'm sure we can get through dinner much quicker. Adding more cold items to the menu should help - that wasn't a big enough grill for 300 people's worth of burgers & dogs. Catering the dinner probably help$ a lot to make this a worthwhile event for the Auto Road. Let's just settle on the 25th - especially since it was suggested by the Auto Road staff. I think a high priority item is to make a deal with the road race sponsors and/or organizers to keep the tent around for an extra week. Hopefully, that would be much cheaper than renting it ourselves - only 1 setup & teardown. I've got no idea, but several $K to rent a big tent like that wouldn't surprise me.

Well, I sure hope we settle on the 25th, I've made my vacation arrangements based around that! We are staying at Attitash Mountian Village from the 19th-26th. I think that the 25th is a good day because that was a lot of events with a lot of people in one day. The tent was nice but I don't think a necessity, we didn't have it the year before. If it costs a lot of money to rent I, for one, don't think the expense is necessary. The food situation was a little hairy. Maybe a better way to run it would be to sit down, provided there is enough seating allow for some chatter and then have the tables go up one at a time instead of a mob. It can be daunting to be looking at a line of 200 people that all want to eat rather than a group of 20 going up at a time, maybe it would be more time, maybe not, everyone would get to eat and no one would complain about waiting in line, you'd have 19 other people to talk with rather than the people directly in front or behind you, it would be like a team effort. Because Louis and I are going up the proposed week before, we are officially volunteering for any duites that may be needed of us. Just give a shout

Just remember we haven't heard from Steve officially on this--before making too many plans---it might be wise to see what he decides after talking to the autoroad folks and balancing. Remember MOT is a monarchy!!!! Hail to King Cod!!!!
| |||
Seconded! I know he has had talks with the autoroad & with T&C ... many months yet to sort this out. Eliminate the delay in the afternoon and improve the food availability and MINIsOnTop life willl be near perfect

The reason that Louis and I have made plans already is that we use our timeshare to travel to NH if I wait for official word then we are scuppered, everyhting is taken. I waited until the end of August last year and the only place left was the village of Loon Mountian. This year we get a 5 star and it is a lot closer to the Auto Road. If it is on the 15th then we can be covered then too. We'll just stay in a hotel for Saturday night and then go about our business of vacationing!

Picture a table in the middle with cookies, brownies, fudge, fruit- watermelon, grapes, etc. open to all.... These items all pack well, do not need to be refrigerated, etc. Last year some of us wandered back several times for desert while prizes were being awarded. A piece of fruit and a yummy brownie would have gone a long way to make up for the crummy salads. ![]() Long distance travelers can easily pick up a pkg. of good cookies or frozen brownies at any convenience store...
