For me the biggest debate about going (besides 'are you flipping NUTS?') is that I live in an apartment and don't really want to have 4 tires that I don't have space for, to add to the full size spare that I have in the kitchen. I'm not quite crazy enough to consider going without snow tires, either. Almost that crazy, but more practical.

4:54am? Is pondering this insanity cutting down on your sleep?

That's why G-d invented eBay! Use 'em and flip 'em.

Or, buy them used on eBay and either resell them, or, if the price was right, toss them.

Believe it or not, I'm usually up that early. I have to be at work at 7, and am crazy enough to get up early to take a walk before I go to work. Even when it's -6.

Which reminds me, don't forget the thermal underwear. Perhaps less useful in Georgia after the run (and I bet they don't rent long johns at the border for humans OR cats, though that would be quite a niche market...)

I think Polartec is making microfleece thermal underwear now. Maybe we can get them to sponsor this? Anybody live near Malden Mills & want to go ask?

I am laughing at an image of Mr. Toes in a red flannel union suit. I doubt he'd tolerate it very well.

I think Mr Toes has enough fashion sense to know that red would clash with his orange fur. Perhaps a sophisticated black, or daring fuschia?

In doing some due diligence and ongoing research, I came across a great set of winter-related driving articles at CANADIAN DRIVER, which I think we should all read to prepare for this.

Great info! Looks like fresh batteries would be a good idea among other things...

Sounds like a great trip but I don't know about parking, DR. Could we arrange to have 128 square kilometers for each of us? I mean, what if, say, ice were to brush snow off his car and it hit mine?
Nah, it really does sound super. Just right for studded 15" on steelies. Plus I might even use the seat heaters.
(yup, ice did the woodwork)

I sure would like to and February is a good month for me to get free. Plus, up that way in Mountie land, there is this beverage called caribou. I think it is a mix of red wine and grain alcohol. Hooah!

Thank you sir. Yes, I did the oak trim. I have only just begun.

Someone said to me, "Isn't that oak adding alot of weight?"

I just laughed.

Is there a list yet of speculative attendees to this run?

Caribou sounds interesting, have had a sip or two of grain alcohol before. Once I got up off the ground and caught my breath from the cough storm I swore it off.
