Offline | We saw a combination arial/ground display that was damn near deadly in its spectacularity. It was dark so I could not tell who was the pyrotechnician but whoever it was, was a genius (or madman). There were shells shooting high into the sky and suddenly they were shooting horizontally. I would have guessed this was random but the fact that no one was killed indicates the display was carefully orchestrated and controlled. By the time it was over, the sounds of party guests shouting hopefully for their loved ones in the heavy smoke all around the pond signalled the end of a memorable display. And Max, get this, we didn't lose a single duck! There was this one guy who was limping a little but hey, that is a small price to pay for such grandeur. |

Offline | Just call me sparky I called Atlas Fireworks yesterday and tried to speak with Steve Pelkey, a fellow I've met a few times and the owner as well as a world famous pyrotechnician. If you saw the PBS firworks special, you saw Steve and his crew. He uses music a lot. Anyway, he was unavailable so I asked this guy how fast a charge might be moving as it comes out of this box called the Firefly. He wasn't sure but thought 80-95 mph was a reasonable guess. My left leg agrees. Remember kids, do not try this blah, blah, blah. A scary moment but, as the ice man said, 3 good things came from it. 1. Nobody was hurt (yeah, right) 2. No major forest fires were started that were not extinguished quickly. 3. (Until now) Nobody knew it was me setting those things off. ![]() Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |

Offline | Nice work John but you really do need to get more vertical. I'm verticaly impaired in some areas of my life but my pyrotechnics are launched well off the horizontal axis without fail. Isn't that why sunroofs are made? And being mobile it makes it all the more difficult for John Law to pinpoint your location. |
