That DP1 looks like a slick compact camera especially with the squred hood attached. Foveon sensorific.

The 18-200mm IS lens looks like a good choice for those of you (Ian?) with an SLR and don't want to deal with a bunch of lenses.

But did you see the size for that 200-500 f2.8? Holy crap!

Go here and scroll down (just under the Samsung Naked Tiger Lady) for a better picture, meaning scale, as there's someone 'trying' to lift this bad boy up in real life...

Check out the lens factory at the aforementioned lens museum site...basically a long video on lens production.

Hmmm. Maybe I should do that with one of the FIVE keyring MINIs that I've received over the last two Christmases... I'm sure the same people have bought me more than one...

Gah. So the price on the nüvi 370 has dropped $50 at Amazon since I ordered. And thanks to UPS, I still haven't gotten it. Sonofa.... Now to figure out how Amazon's price protection works.

Check out Price Protector (link corrected). You enter the Amazon URL of whatever you purchased and you'll be notified if the price drops within the 30 day window of Amazon's price protection. Using this I got $10 credited back to my card. I now use it whenever I get something from Amazon.

Refuse it and re-buy it if they don't make good

Thanks, Pamlico. That earlier link (the corrected one, which you didn't quote ) points to Price Protectr. (Is it now "cool" or Web 2.0 to drop the last "e" in a word? Flickr's cool; the rest are poseurs. )

In my inbox when I got back:
Quote:
Since this item was shipped so recently, I have requested a refund of
$47.29 to your credit card. This amount reflects the difference
between the price you were charged and the discounted price. The
refund should be processed in the next few days and will appear as a
credit on your next billing statement.

So they turned that around in about 90 minutes, I think! Impressive! It doesn't seem to be a published policy. This definitely helps my budget for the month.
