The speakers will be susceptible to the same kind of interference as your cordless phone. Make sure you have the phone and speakers set to different channels or you could end up with a giant speakerphone. Better yet...move up to a 2.4GHz or 5.8GHZ phone. You'll have more range, and at least your phone won't interfere with the speakers....or go for 2.4GHz speakers. These seem to get pretty good reviews.

I have just been give a new laptop (HP nc6320) by the school. The old one (Toshiba A60) would freeze up when I connected to my wireless router (2.4 GHz) and used our 2.4 GHz phones at the same time. This one seems just fine. Not sure how it sorts out the interference...

Just ordered a set of wireless stereo speakers at.............900 megasamethings

Do I now have stereo speakerphone

All wireless speakers have a 50/50 shot of doing what you want them to do and usually sound like crap - So I hope that where you bought them has a good return policy. We used to call all the wireless speaker/headphone stuff boomarangs back when I worked for a living. A good boombox is usually cheaper and sounds better - you just have to bring your CD selection with you (get an mp3 player) or hire an electrician or someone like him (i know where you can get speakers real cheap )

Keep a close eye on websitepulse. I found they don't properly account for downtime (5mins instead of 10 or whatever for the updates) so it is actually down twice as much as they say. Of course I wrote both them and site5 about the bug and just got the usual runaround.

websitepulse has never alerted me except when I know my site is down anyway. Agreed since it's an hourly check, it can miss short downtime, or if it catches it then it's a minimum 1 hour downtime.
But having a server down for almost a day is totally unacceptable. Site5 and other servers say they strive for 99.9% of whatever, but that's irrelevant if they have no backups and their only recovery plan is a very slow and tedious rebuild

Never mind.... Apparently brushed metal is still the look on OS X Safari...

Apple released 10.4.10 today, and it includes RAW support for a couple compact Panasonic and Leica cameras. Ruh roh Raggy. I've fallen in love with RAW and I kinda sorta don't really need but really really want a new compact camera....

Leicas look awesome but are certainly more money for just the label, most have an identical panasonic equivalent, and sadly still don't hold up to the canons in tests. Still, I'd love to have one.
