http://www.monoprices.com/products/s...d=hdmi&x=7&y=8 But the longest I see anywhere is 15ft. Why is your DVD player so far away?? Maybe if you can find a M-M cable and a M-F cable and plug the two together. Or maybe the HDMI spec only allows up to 15ft. Monster is overrated and way overpriced. Don't forget it's digital anyway so its not like your signal quality will be affected.

http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000997022480/ I thought IBM was already out of the PC business. Or maybe that was just IBM out of the consumer market, not selling the whole thing off. I liked the comment about Thinkpad quality. I can't tell if that was meant as "it won't get worse" or "it can't get worse" ![]() I guess that's not fair. The quality of my Thinkpad from work is good, it's just the design that sucks. 5 freakin "mouse" buttons... stupid trackpoint eraser / nipple thingy... Dumb keyboard light that's at the top of the screen, so when you turn it on it throws glare on the screen and just a tiny bit of light on the keyboard (go with the backlit keys like my powerbook, already)... I never can remember which key combination wakes it up from sleep... a speaker mute button that's not a toggle (you push it to mute, but to un-mute you have to volume up or volume down). At least I didn't have to pay for it.

Jason, Didn't Apple get a patent on the backlit keyboard, so you'll have to use your powerbook to get that feature..! Josh, The DVD player is so far from the screen because all the AV stuff is hidden away in a closet. The wires go down through the floor along the joists in the basement and then back up the wall that the screen is on. No point having a 4" deep, hang on the wall TV and then having massive boxes of electronics beneath it and loads of wires! Once it's finished you won't see any wires going to the screen. edit: The long cables are out there... I just don't want to pay another $200 just yet. http://www2.dvigear.com/hd10mshrca.html ![]() Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.

BAH! You just need nice-looking AV equipment likemine. Plus, the ladies are always impressed by the sheer mass of wires behind my entertainment rack! (Did you know my DVD player alone has TEN RCA cables exiting the back? All custom-made with gold connectors by myself, at a fraction of the cost)
