I literally just picked up an iPod Photo (60gig). It can do slideshows, think it will play the videos?

Nope. Not unless it's the brand new one that just came out with the larger screen.

? For mac users who do you use for image hosting? I'm in the midst of setting up blog and having trouble finding mac friendly image hosting that is free. How is flickr?

Yes, we choose flickr. Which is fine for free if you go in with the mindset of only uploading your best photos of things. One of the few that still allows you to embed the photos elsewhere like mini2.

Or our own servers.

I am looking for something that will resize photos, so that I can make blogging the easiest thing. I posted one of the pics from flickr but it thumbnailed it with a question mark. If you clicked on the question mark then it forwarded it to the flickr site. I think that I'll have to stick with resizing and posting single pics and try to figure out how to do albums later.

You may have copied the wrong thing out of flickr. It automatically generates several sizes of each photo, and I use them both in my blog and mini2 as they're prefect size and still good quality.

When you're at the photo page, click on the All sizes button to see the bigger version. Then click on one of the smaller ones like Medium. Then below, you want to copy the short address that ends in jpg. Then put it in img tags here.

Like I always say got a problem post it on the geek thread. Thanks for your help now to just get aroung the 20MB maximum per month. Thanks a lot Josh I got it to work with your help. Could they make that link any smaller. I would have given up in a few hours if it wasn't for you.

It's not free, but I use smugmug. It has unlimited storage in even the basic account, which I like more than flikr. They have good multi platform support including an uploader that links with your iPhoto libraries. Let me know if you want to try it, I think if I send you a link from my account we both get a deal..!

Flickr is so much nicer than smugmug, don't listen to Gavin! (Jason, where are you....)

Like I said if you think of it for only your "best" photos, you can get away with the free/20MB/month thing. But it is very much well worth the price for unlimited.
Flickr is more of a photo community than just a picture hosting service. You can browse around there for hours finding so many beautiful and interesting things!

HEY! Don't knock smugmug. Smugmug is very much a community. Just go to their message board and soak in the wisdom. And you can browse around the photos there, too. Unlimited storage rules!

Yeah, don't listen to Josh or Jason, listen to me and Annette..!
Mac or PC? smugmug or flikr?
Annette, do you mean digitalgrin when you talk about smugmug message board..? That's a good community - I bought a nice lens from someone on there.

Yeah, that's the place. There are some really good photographers on there, and I think it's really cool that they'll talk to you and give you pointers. Everyone is given equal footing there, which is nice.
