Just got my Scavenger Hunt email.

Was going to ask if participation would interfere with the RC Rally.

But after close examination of both reg forms I realized the times are offset so I answered my own question...I guess people can participate in both.

Over 300 people, but how many cars..? Is the trip to the top full or should we still be pushing this event to any MINI we see..?

Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.

Me too
and I have some concernes about it since I am a solo entrant I will opt out of this as I think a good navigator will be needed to do it safely...

but I am very concerned about the only the first 10 to get their film in will be entered thing... I fear this is an invitation for disaster with folks perhaps pushing safety to be one of the first 10 back why not allow digital camera entries with the photos downloaded when folks get in? almost everyone has them by now and you could even have a few loaners provided by those of us with extras they do not have to be good ones in fact 640x480 POS types can be had for less than the cost of a disposable and its developing on eBay these days... USB 8 in one card readers that will read every known card format are also cheap And if you want to do it this way I would be glad to help with the downloading into laptops and judging please give this some thought as I have a very bad feeling about this first 10 rule...

Hi Randolph,

We spent long hours debating this very point, before deciding on the format.

There simply isn't enough time between the end of the event, and the festivities at the Mountain to download and sift through everyone's pictures. We cannot go through hundreds of pictures in people's cameras and get into debates which snapshot is part of the contest and which isn't. We simply don't have the time, or the manpower or any of the hardware to do that in time.

As for safety: The clues will be in a random order; the teams will not race together to their destinations. Instead, they'll scatter and spend time uncovering the clues independently, before they turn them in for judging. None of the clues will require the participants to drive and take pictures at the same time. In fact, for most clues the MINI will have to be included in the picture. And finally, as the registration form states, participants will be required so sign a pledge to obey traffic rules and to respect private property and the rights of the others.

You can always participate at your own pace for the drive through the countryside and the mental challenge some of the clues will provide.

Currently:
145 cars from the general populaton
15 cars slotted for MINI USA (guessing there will be about 30-40 people from this group)
14 cars from the MOT volunteer pool
That leaves 40 spots remaining for the full MOT monty.

Wow! I guess they are taking us a bit more seriously this year and sending more than just a convertible. I hope they are prepared to deal with all of us over-enthusiasts welcoming them!

You blow alot of hot air. What if he did come up with something so stupefying? I say that if he could pull off such a triumph that you, sir, should be required to purchase the first 100 raffle tickets.

Their current plan is to have an Eastern Region Sales Managers Conference centered around MINIs On Top. We should see the SM's from all the eastern region MINI dealerships at MOT.

If he did come up with something so stupefying I'd be pretty damned pleased knowing that without me it would not have happened. You need me fish breath....you really do. Who else is going to rabble the masses so well?

Heh.

Heh.

I see then, that despite the gauntlet being thrown down you are not manly enough to accept the challenge, remote as it may be.
