I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding and Paul will be along to fix it right away.

As for charging your credit card, it's an automatic subscription. I have a few of those that do an automatic renewal, nothing nefarious about it.

I do too, Sherry, but I do not recall agreeing to such a procedure at the time of my initial joining. And that IS necessary.

The key is obviously that you forgot to use the code word 'blokes' in your communications...!
On a more serious note, I don't think the re-billing is anything illegal or at all shady. You're signing up for an annual membership which renews automatically. It's in the small print when you sign up;

Looks like I'm too slow in typing. The sign up for Privilege is hard to find now IMHO but that quote is from it. You have to go to User Control Panel and then there's an option near the bottom of the left hand navigation for Paid Subscriptions. If it was me, I'd make it a lot more visible for people who are't in it.
Mine also ran out and tried to get rebilled to a card I no longer use, so I'm in limbo through laziness at the moment.

Folks...back when you first signed up for Privilege Membership, it was stated very clearly that it would automatically be renewed and rebilled when due, unless you contacted paul to cancel it beforehand. Your issue with the prizes is one thing, but do not scream because your card was charged without authorization. You did agree to it last year. Always read the fine print.

Mine expires in two days and I'm still not sure if I want to cancel it or not...I do want to support MINI2 (well I do with the only sticker on my car), but do not use a single priv "benefit."

Speaking of this kind of stuff...I lost all my rep points. Not sure if it came with losing my priv membership and then getting it back - or because of the new software on the site. Pretty lame because I liked to look back and see what people gave rep for, like Ed.

Yes, I miss the old rep but it dropped off anyway. The system has been restarted twice now, and I hope this is the last time.

It's an automatic renewal and that's stated on/before sign up.

I did reply ages ago and I assume you didn't get my messages. Basically along the lines of I'm not sure if it will work, but to contact me when the renewal was up and I would refund the charge if it went through, or just add another year if it failed (as many are due to the software upgrade).

I'll sort it out now so you'll have a years extension from now.
