I put my paperwork in the mail today. Any recommendations on where to stay? Based on on what I have read, T&C is full.

You had it backwards! If you're not starting in Bar Harbor you can sleep in.

Just to add in a few more of the offbeat:

There's an American Youth Hostel in the area.......cheap reates. I understand it's in an old colonial house. Go here: http://tinyurl.com/636lf

Lots of other Mom and Pop side of the road cabins. I and my 2 girls got one of these a coupleof years ago. Fun and funky......like going back in time to the days when all motels were small roadside dwellings. This was the place:

Might do this again this year......

Then there's the campgrounds for roughing it.

Potential Western Mass MOT2005 Caravan

Just a reminder that I am lookng for anyone from western MA/CT, NY, NJ, PA and points south and west that might be interested in a MINI Caravan from Yankee Candle in S. Deerfield, MA (just off I-91) to the White Mountains. If you might be interested, please follow the link below and let me know.

Western Mass MOT2005 Caravan

Our trip to the T&C last year took us up I-91 into northern VT and then turned east toward the White Mountains.

This year I thinking that if we do the Yankee Candle Caravan, we might want to avoid I-91 and travel northeast toward the Whites over some interesting local roads. Essentially, the route would head toward Keene, NH (picking up any MAMA members in that area) and travel backroads to Concord, NH. There we would get on I-93 and head north to the Whites. We might also be able to arrange to join some Boston-area folks with a meet-up along I-93 north of Concord.

Imagine a MINI Caravan of 20 to 30 MINIs!

What do you think?

More Lodging

The AMC has inexpensive lodging (that you don't have to hike to ) at 2 locations.

The closest to Mt. Washington in the Joe Dodge Lodge.

There's also the newly opened Highland Lodge. That's on 302, west of Bear Notch Road.

And don't forget there is free lodging if you make a day trip out of it.

The dark is exactly when you should be afraid... to drive home. Porcupines are nocturnal.

Yet another splendid idea Theo... the nice roads thru Keene and beyond are much more
MINI- esque than the mundane interstate, and if we can troll in more MINI's on that route...
as you said " Just imagine...".

Volunteer to design flyer please.

We need a flyer made up advertising the MOT Charity Raffle. It would be made available here as a pdf and people would be encouraged to print and distribute copies. It should be standard 8.5 X 11.

It should have the following pertinent information including a picture of a Hyper Blue/White Cooper.

Information would be:
-MINIs On Top
Fundraiser for Kennedy-Donovan Centers
One Grand Prize Winner
2005 MINI Cooper 24 month free lease
Color: Hyper Blue with white top and sunroof
Only 200 tickets to be sold
Cost: $50 per ticket
Drawing to be held during MINIs On Top event June 18, 2005
Need not be present to win
100% of proceeds to benefit Kennedy Donovan Centers.
Please contact Steve Barnatt at steve@minisontop.com

We are thinking of adding the Jump as a exhibition and not part of the scoring. And of course and damage that happens is the drivers responsibility. More info to follow so stay tuned. DO NOT CHANGE THE CHANNEL!!!

FAQs/Day's Agenda?

hey guys, came here via minisontop, and I'm not seeing the actual FAQs, just links to the unofficial thread and Bah Hahbah.

My real interest is to how the day rolls out, e.g. what time do y'all meet at Loon and drive over, etc. Reason is friends have a condo in Lincoln that might be cheaper (read free) to stay at, vs. finding something in the Gorham area.

Or, I may just drive up that morning....providing we're not dropping kids off at camp (tho' my son's at Belknap in Wolfeboro so that kid may actually work out -- the other one's heading out to Springfield -- wrong way!).

TIA!
