Bump.

So far we have about 100 cars attending: Audi, BMW, VW, and few MB's. If I can get a decent Mini owner turnout, I will (and I need to know) contact Mini dealerships for some raffling items.

What is "gtg"?
You might consider posting at http://www.nemini.org/ if you have not already - many MINI owners from closer to NJ hang out there more than here ...

GTG is get together, what we usually do every weekend over the summer. GTG=car meet=MINI rally

I think this is a great idea for a tsunami fundraiser, we should do one around here.

waddup?

What's the low down?

GTG is rather open ended. Hanging and chillin'? Or is it a timed event?

Bringing donations of clothing?

Cheers!

Sorry about that.

It is a European meet, but any car enthusiasts are welcome. We just got the approval from the mayor of the town, who also wants to be partners in the fundraiser.

Now that the mayor is a partner in the fundraiser, the location and time may be changed. The mayor wants the event to be held at Ikea Paramus (which is located right across from Garden State Plaza). The mayor and town committee will be releasing press releases to the media, so expect some sort of coverage.

We are getting more and more sponsors each day, some of which are well known companies.

You don't have to bring money to the event (although it helps), you can also bring items such as clothes, water and canned food.

Hopefully by Monday I will have the exact detail about the event. We are currently trying to work around a lot of red tape.

I will post there on Monday night when everything will be finalized with the Mayor. I feel bad as it is posting here when things are not yet definite. Sorry.

I'm almost positive that a Mini dealership will be a sponsor, so you guys are not left out.

The Mayor of Paramus has been very helpful and has lifted a lot of the load off our shoulders and things are going very smooth. There's all ready 112 cars confirmed, with another 20 or so people as 'maybes' and that's not even including non-European car groups that wants to attend.

This thread originated on VWVortex.com and it has spread to E30 forums, E46 forums, Audi forums, MB forums, Subaru forums, and EVO forums.
