Thanks to all for making the YC/Area 51 Caravan a terrific "Pre-MOT" event! It was good to see and speak with so many of you. However, I do apologize to those with whom I missed greeting and chatting because of time considerations.
Also, thank you all for the very creative Area 51 signed poster. It will occupy a special place on the den wall and will remind me of the good friends I have, and have made this year.
Same bat-time, same bat-channel next year????

Theo, thanks for the caravan and the the scav hunt (snek too of course)!
It was an amazing way to introduce me to the MINI community. It was great to put faces with all the names that have become so familar with. I cannot wait for the next event.
Thanks so much for all the time you put in... be assured it was appreciated by all... the YC Caravan / Area 51 meetup and pre MOT Kanc run was an event in itself, making Friday as special as Saturday. Pat and I had a great time meeting and motoring with all you fine folks !!!
Jeff
How can you be in two places at once, when you're not anywhere at all ?
Looks like the Raffle MINI will be going to my oldest son, Colin, as he is in need of a car. Of course, this means he will be required to join his parents for MOT 2006!
Thank you again for all the kind words...

Theo -
Thanks for a great start to a great weekend, but winning cars and making your family members drive 'em isn't the only way to expand your event - Word of mouth regarding what a good time we all had will do that (As well as your ability to attract better weather)

So true, Michael! If folks had a good time on the Caravan, please talk it up for next year. I am committed (!) to doing this again for MOT 2006. Let's try to increase our numbers by 50%.
I'd like to get some feedback from folks so please feel free to post/PM your responses to these questions:
1.YC Folks:
- Was Yankee Candle a good meeting point?
- How could the YC event location be improved?
- What could have been done better?
2. Area 51 Folks:
- Was Area 51 a good meeting point?
- How could the Area 51 location be improved?
- What could have been done better at Area 51?
- Suggestions for Area 51 activities while wating for the YC group?
3. Did we stop too often or not enough?
4. How was the timing of the event:
- Did we get to the T&C too early/late?
- Did we spend too much time at the rest stops?
- Other timing comments?
5. General comments about the Caravan to help improve things?
6. Any mechanical devices to help keep Theo looking at the speedometer?
For those who like to keep track of details (am I the only one?):
- There were two major Caravan groups: Bah Habah from the northeast, and YC/Area 51 from the south/southwest.
- There were 26 MINIs that gathered at Yankee Candle. When we joined the Area 51 crew, we increased our count by 11 to a total of 37 MINIs for the run to the Whites.
- 1 out of about every 6 MINIs at MINIs on Top participated in the YC/Area 51 Caravan.
- We left YC at 12:20 and arrived at Area 51 at 2:50. We left Area 51 at about 3:20 and arrived at the T&C at 6:00. Elapsed times were pretty much on target.
- Theo forgot to go the speed limit exactly 417 times.
- While on the road, we discovered it was National Truck Driving While Heavily Medicated Day.
