This weekend after a day of skiing I stopped in the Shooting Star Saloon, the oldest in Utah and pretty much unchanged since the old west. Their menu reads:
MENU
BEER, BURGERS, CHIPS, and BEER
In the interest of saving the rainforest, we do not serve salad.

Their StarBurger is two huge patties oozing with cheese, grilled onions, mustard and mayo. Sandwiched in between the patties is a Knockwurst.

I ate two.

(I don't think Fudruckers will have quite the same wall decorations)

Nice! Roadside America is great...I went to House on the Rock - pretty strange.

The StarBurger sounds crazy...and you put away two, I'm impressed!

I should note I am much closer to 100% on this. But I still recommend stopping into MOP afterwards. Don't you think they miss us?

They surely miss me ... I haven't been there (on a weekday) for ages!

I think I might stop by on Thursday

I was hoping to do a pre-eat this Saturday but now I am going to Hot Dog Annie's out west. It will be a Saturday, but I'm sure we'll be able to grab a couple tables and put them together. Susan and I will be there early anyway so we can figure that out.

Ian, enjoy...I am going to lunch at The Similans with a couple people on Thursday after work.

Only expecting *arrival* on Thursday, not delivery ...

As to your second question ... if I can get enough work done tomorrow, "all day" is probably the answer! Given that there is no way to know when arrival will happen.

Okay. Ian, after lunch I will call your cell and see if your car has come in yet or not. If not, I will go up.

Now, if you two continue on about this here, you have to AT LEAST mention something about burgers. I don't care what exactly...your favorite, what you like on them...and if you say mayo then we are going to have a REAL problem on our hands........

I've been to Fuddruckers a couple of times - people rave about it but I really was a bit disappointed. The condiments choices are great, but the actual burgers are nothing amazing and the location is full of kids.

Maybe some big grown up MINI owning kids will make the place more fun

Yes, and thank you for being honest. I went a few times when I was little and there was a location in Burlington. I went with Susan and my parents one time that she was here...because they have that classic car show on Thursday nights.

I was really struggling with where to hold this, though. Most of my favorite places are off the beaten path, or there is no parking. There are a ton of great places in Somerville and Cambridge but nowhere that people can gather in the parking lot and look at cars and whatever.

Another idea I had was this place called FireFly's BBQ, there is one in Marlboro which is kind of out there - but they aren't open for lunch or something. I haven't even been there though so I don't know if I really would have gone for that anyway.

So...mediocre burgers, but it's near the city, easily accessible, and there is plenty of parking. And come on...Susan will be there, and I think she is starting to like you guys.

Glad you are in, Joe. You can tell us all tales from the wild north...and how soon Secco started whining! You can come in another car, I don't care.

RFO'Sullivans still rules. But they might get a little suspicious with a lineup of MINIs in the supermarket parking lot... Not that RFO's could accommodate any parties larger than 4 anyway. Fudruckers is a good kind of place to hold this kind of thing.
