Offline | Advice for a noob. Thinking about 05 MCS in CT Hello: I did a search for my topic in question and came up with a few results. Was wondering if anyone else had information or advice for a Mini noob like myself! Here's my question: I'm interested in purchasing an 05 Mini Cooper S with Premium, Sport, and Cold Weather in the CT area. Do dealers in the area (Fairfield and Hartford) budge from MSRP at all? Or should I not even bother haggling up the price from dealer invoice? My guess is no but wanted to guage others' recent experiences. Also, any other advice you can give would be helpful! Looking forward to becoming a Mini enthusiast! TIA, CJ Last edited by GMINI : Apr 18th, 2005 at 02:34 AM. |

Offline | With a 2 month wait for a car I doubt it. There was no haggling for the one I just bought, but I supposed you can try. (If you are trading in a car, try some haggling there, or maybe if you by a car of the lot - not that there are many of those). - John |

Offline | CourtJestir, You won't find an '05 below MSRP, but worry about, the re-sale values are fantastic. At least you aren't trying to buy one in CA. There they charge $1000 - $5000 above MSRP. If you were looking for a left-over there might be some bargining room. Motor on, Dudes and Dudettes!!! '06 MCS SB/S '02 MCS DS/W (retired) |

Offline | Of course, I know someone with an 03 in fabulous shape, kinda hi miles but nary a scratch, available immediately, all 3 pkgs, etc.etc. etc plus hundreds less than NADA says it should be. Same guy has an 05 with 113 miles available for $5k over MSRP and we'll say we are in CA.. Pick 'em Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |

Offline | Head over to New Country and see what they'll give you and MC40 for. I know at least $2K under. But that's pre-specced and ready to deliver, still new. One of theirs has an aftermarket sunroof. It's still listed on www.MINIUSA.com under build. ![]() NY/NE Mod |

Offline | Hey all, Just an update and a thanks for all the comments and advice. My wife and I bit the bullet and ordered a Chili Red '05 MCS with sport, cold weather, and premium. Since it's going to be my wife's car, I didn't push too much on all the extra toys that I wanted, but she would never use. Oh well. :-) We're just excited to get one. We must have amazing luck or something because I have been reading some of the Production threads over in the other forum and people have been many many weeks. We ordered on 4/16. I placed a call to ASK MINI today and the nice rep told me that "Koopa" (which is what my wife named her new Cooper - she has an affinity for all things Mario Bros!) was in the paint shop and will be done on April 27th - this Wednesday! That was quick! Now if it would only get across the pond and to my dealer that quick. That would be sweet-ee-dee. Anyway, I'll post pics, of course. CJ |
