In my town of less than a thousand year round residents, most of us know most of us. My pal, Chet Pratt, is co-owner of Anytime Auto, a decent garage, and Granite Lake Hardware which sadly is closing. He and his terrific wife, Denise, have 2 fine sons. Miles is a freshman at Keene State. Darren is 16 and is a neat kid with some special developmental needs, especially in academics.
This Spring, Darren had a grand mal seizure. What the quacks found was a hefty brain tumor that, on biopsy, was malignant. Big surgery at Children's in Boston, big doses of standard and some experimental chemo, big radiation. Last week, Darren had more surgery on his noggin. The fear this time, apart from the obvious, was that the location of the cancer and its removal might cause blindness, paralysis, and/or behavioral changes.
Thankfully, this did not happen. BTW, Children's released Darren 48 hours after this surgery but then told him he could stay as long as he needed and screw the insurance companies. Bravo, Children's!
Make-a-Wish in NH is working with the family to get Darren his wish, a trip to Hawaii. He told me he wants to 'see babes'. I got a tad misty. Probably 'cause I'd like to as well.
At any rate, Rick and I thought that this might be a good idea. Below are drawings of a new T. 3/4 sleeves, I think it's called a baseball T although to be true to the sport, it should have the Yankee logo on it somewhere

. Note the fowl on the front and the MAMA logo on the back and I thank the artist down south for the work.
This is an EXTREMELY limited edition. There are only 50 of these available. Most are size L although there are some Ms and some XLs. The cost is $18.00 per.
Net profits will be donated to NH Make-a-Wish on behalf of Darren and in memory of Eduardo "DuckyBoy" Smith.
I'll post when the shirts are done. And this note is the first, maybe tomorrow I'll link it to the OT&B thread. Just a heads up. 2 more BTWs: note Mini Copper on thumbnails AND, at MAMA III, please remember that this is a free club but that R&L spend $$$ running it so...slipping a fin into their car when they are not looking would be a gracious act.
Thanks all, looking forward to seeing you.
