I'm a total newbie. After reading the whole entire thread, can someone explain what a mama 3 is? It seems like a parade of minis going on a route. If that's what it is, I'm interested but I'm not a member of anything.

Actually - you are catching on pretty quick. Yes - It's a parade of MINIs. They go on a route (and sometimes not the one planned hence the U-Turn comments). I myself belong to the National Geographic Society and they (whoever "they" are) let me go last year and we had a blast. Got a chance to see many covered bridges and a stop at a great apple orchard. Come along and meet a great bunch of people (all except for this one guy... ) “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.” - Alexis de Tocqueville Eric the Red

MAMA is Monadnock Area MINI Association - a "club" mostly created because it has a cool name You can go here to read about it and sign up - which costs nothing and gives you little, except you can now be a member of a MINI club Hey!

You had to get permission from National Geographic..? Is that like a non-compete clause or something..? ![]() Sorry, not trying to confuse the newbie. As others have said, sign up for MAMA - it's free and fun. This is the third run the MAMA head honcos (such as they are) have organised so it's MAMA III ![]() Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else.

Speaking as a former newbie, and cognizant of the fact that membership is free, I shall put forth the following question: Is "free" really a good thing? To get a real feel of this group, go to the Johnny Dangerous thread. That's where most of them hang out. Think of geriatric Fonzis. You know, the type that may have been cool once, and somehow think therefore they are still. If you look at their charter, you'll see that they are underwritten by EXXON. Hence the need to waste gasoline. It's a scam I tell ya. A scam. Don't fall for it.

Yeah. And you gotta watch out for him. He's like wicked crazy man. Mike.....we talking about the same guy? How was your Trip to Bountiful? I'm sitting here watching disk 2 of the Monterey Pop. Freakin' incredible I tell ya.

Well while you are brewing tomorrow I'll be enjoying John Mayall at Mt Wachusett. Maybe I'll get my growler filled at the brewery while I'm in the area. Enjoy the video... “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.” - Alexis de Tocqueville Eric the Red
