Offline | MOP not knowing all of the programmable options? Hello, I have posted the same question on NAM. This is a more regional site, so here goes. My MA has related to me that MOP has never done some of the options on the excell spreadsheet that I downloaded from a thread on NAM, reportedly from Appalachian MINI, and have attached. Are there any MINI owners that have experience with the service center at MOP? I had heard that they were the best in this area, although there are only three dealers to choose from. |

Offline | I don't have the car yet, this is pre-purchase. My MINI is on the BOHEME heading to NJ. He didn't say what options. I sent him the document with our selections in bold. I'm sure they'll get it squared away. I have heard nothing but good things about MOP. Thanks |

Offline | There is also the fact that the programmable options vary over time - different models of MINI, different years (days?!) of manufacture, etc. For example the "home lights" no longer appear to exist - or at least they don't work like they used to. On my older MINIs if I turned the ignition off before the lights, then they stayed on a while. On my '05 I must flick the lights stalk to high beam (after turning ignition off) to get the lights to come on for a while. Another - the "hold remote button" would no longer open the trunk, since there is on '05 MINIs a button dedicated to unlocking the trunk. Another - the wipers "switch back to stationary" is not available with the rain sensing wipers option. etc. In the other direction I believe the sensitivity of the auto headlights option can be adjusted - have not bothered to try, but it is missing from your list. In summary: Only YOUR MINI knows exactly what options are available to it. |

| MINI2 Master | If you're looking for encouragement, I think everyone here will give you nothing but a glowing review of MOP. It is not the best in the area, it is the best in the country. When mine first came in I told them the options I wanted ahead of time, and my MA wrote them on the windshield so the techs wouldn't miss it. ![]() My wipers used to stop when the car was stop but now don't...I wonder if a software update sopped this, or the option got reset. Hmm. |

Offline | Very likely. GBMINI#3 got its auto-lock-on-drive-away re-enabled after something was installed (forget what, now). And GBMINI#2 forgot to ring its low fuel bell after another service visit. The official MINI instructions for all jobs talk about recording all customer settings before start, and resetting after but I doubt we could find any dealership that does it. Stupid really - if it is such a big deal then the computer should automate it! |
