Offline | What's With This GD Pollen? I'm out in "metrowest", about 25 miles west of Boston. The past day or two the pollen has suddenly appeared in copious amounts. Parked near some trees at my daughter's school Fri AM, and when I came out the car was just covered w/ it....green Pine pollen. Washed the car this AM and you could just see the water streaking thru the pollen on the driveway; after mowing the lawn I blew the driveway, deck, etc. off and it was just flying everywhere. Methinks the cold May delayed it? Is anyone else seeing it? And sneezing like crazy? At least for me, it's ruling out what I'm allergic to as I was sneezing like crazy in May like I'm accustomed to, but this really isn't bothering me. Gonna have to wash again tmrw ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Yeah man, was falling like snow here the other day. Shoots in through the passenger window, scuffles underneath your nose, and then shoots out through the driver's window! Hahahahaha!!! ![]() ***BMW-AG Rocks!!!*** Portsmouth FC Can Thank Sunderland...What a Farce!!! |

Offline | BTW, if you suffer from pollen allergies, just take a Vitamin C tablet (1000mg) in the morning after you first go out and get exposed and then another at night. Be careful though it you have low blood iron as this could cause nose-bleeds, etc. Forget all those high-priced anti-biotics your doctor will want to prescribe to you to make money. The Vitamin C tablets work like a charm and don't destroy your immune system, or your wallet, in the process. ![]() ***BMW-AG Rocks!!!*** Portsmouth FC Can Thank Sunderland...What a Farce!!! |

Offline | It's from the white pines, try to park away from them if you can. I have a large one in the driveway, so I Will live with the new look until I wash the car for MOT. The tree should be done pollinating soon, I think it usually lasts a week. Indi Blue State MINI |

Offline | We've got a big ole white pine just outside our garage. It's usually bad about this time, but this year it seems to be worse (for us, guess not for pine trees). We actually have puddles of yellow on our deck from when it rained the other day. And when a good breeze comes up, you can see the clouds of pollen. I've been using my car duster because to pull the car out and wash it ... well, that's right under the pine tree. This too shall pass. At least we're not allergic to it. |

Offline | Was looking at Hondas Saturday, the cars were covered with the stuff. Even neater were the trails left behind on the hoods (yep, they call them "hoods", like normal people) by some crawling insect. Shoulda had my camera with me, quite artistic it was in a natural sort of way. |

Offline | Clean for MoT?... I'm gonna go for the most pollen-encrusted, filthy Mini award there... no point washing the dang car right now...besides, every time I wash the car, that negative drag on the rear causes my car to have a "dirty butt" after about 1/4 mile.. I shine 'er up about once every other week and that is it.. not enough time to be maniacal about cleaning it.. The pollen over here in Nashua/Merr, NH area was so bad over the last few days it looked like smog or smoke or greenhouse gasses, whatever, it was ultra thick though... it's like the UBER-POLLEN... however I do have to agree, my allergies really weren't all that affected by it... surprisingly... hmmm weird...why I don't use a California duster to dust pollen off my paint job, only the interior... talk about leaving "swirl marks"!!... a good rinse with water is the best way to remove pollen.. pollen has so much surface area that it is bouyant and will float off your car (especially if you're good about waxing) (Courtesy of a program I saw on TV, I think it was on Speedvision) Stop the world, I wanna get off!!! |
