Deep Sea Fishing, Private Charter?..Please read updated 1st post!

Pete (BWROOFCHEX) and I were talking today about doing a "private charter" to go fishing. If anyone would be interested let me know. We were thinking towards the end of September or so.

Most important thing would be that once we found out the price we would have to "pre-register" and have the fees paid in advance so that the boat could be reserved.

Let me or Pete know if you are interested.. (you could post here too, but I'm guessing this one will turn into another OT thread in about a day.. )

ALSO VERY IMPORTANT: one of the very last conversations I had with Ed was possibly setting up this very trip, so in memory of Ed, anyone that would like to send one of the "MaxaMiniDucks" along, I will "set him free" out in the middle of the ocean, even if it requires some "nefarious activity" on my part... (all depends on what the captain is like).

People who may be interested...

My uncle's (ok, aunt's boyfriend) sister runs a charter business. I don't know if CT's too far out of the way for you guys, but if you want I can ask prices. This is their website: Catchem Charters

Jared, most likely Cod, Haddock ,etc...

Annette.. I'll take that into consideration , but we would normally use Smith and Gilmore out of Hampton..

Really? That's it? I had assumed something like tuna...the kind of fish where they have to strap you into the chair. That's what I got out of "private charter" anyway.

I might be intererested. I've gone on boats from Smith & Gilmore several times and always come back with at least one fish. Last week of September sounds good. Too much going on the first two weekends.

That time of year down here in the sound it's blue fish. Charter for cod is fun even though you can't catch the big cod like in the good old days. In the '70's we would catch some really big ones. Now they are all puny in comparison. I have heard that cod fishing north of Boston and in the bay have been wicked ****a. Fall cod should be good trip.
Go out of Gloucester.....Ian can put us all up the night before so we won't have a long morning drive.
